Scientists Warn of Unexpected CME Bomb during Solar Cycle 24

Scientists are learning to predict giant solar storms that could, at any time, hit the Earth and produce cascading catastrophes. This statement comes from the highest esteemed agency -- The National Science Foundation. The NSF is internationally known for its extremely careful release of information to maintain its reputation of credibility.
A coronal mass ejection (CME) is a discharge of 'charged particles' sometimes referred to as 'plasma' from our Sun. CME's are almost always associated with sunspots and solar flares. If a CME is Earth directed, it can cause severe damage from power grid failures to earthquakes.
As mentioned in previous articles, the NSF has endorsed my 1998 Sun-Earth Equation (see below). Today's announcement has issued a heads-up warning suggesting our current solar cycle, Cycle 24, could in fact possess a serious, if not record-breaking coronal mass ejection (CME) which could bring the world to its knees.
Equation: Sunspots => Solar Flares or CME's => Shifting Earth's Magnetic Field => Shifting Jet Stream => Shifting Ocean Currents => Extreme Weather and Human Disruption (Battros 1998)
Today's NSF warning of future hazards has in fact happened on three occasions in recorded history. Note: The term "recorded history" reflects an extremely short period of time capturing a mere approximate 200 year span. This is to say; although I am speaking of a possible 4th event which could be labeled as "record-breaking" , it does not consider the fact the Earth has experienced such an event thousands -- if not hundreds of thousands -- of times during Earth's life history. However, such an event occurring within the next 2 to 4 years would cause unmatched devastation due to our current electro-magnetic technological advancements.
The first and most spectacular event occurred on September 1st 1859. The Sun unleashed a massive record-breaking coronal mass ejection (CME), speeding through our solar system at nearly the speed of light (671 million per hour - or 186,282 per second), hitting Earth's magnetic field. This caused the largest geomagnetic storm ever recorded setting off auroras across half the world almost reaching into Central America just short of the equator. To give perspective; the average solar storm sets off auroras which cover Alaska and maybe down into northern Canada. (see map below)
This event has become known as the Carrington Storm or Carrington Event, named after Richard Carrington, a member of the Royal Astronomical Society, observing Sunspots through a telescope, making the first-ever observation of a white-light flare -- a huge explosion erupting on the solar surface. The explosion observed by Carrington signaled the ejection from the Sun of an interplanetary hurricane directed at Earth. Approaching at 5 million miles per hour, it struck 18 hours later and immersed the planet in the biggest magnetic storm ever recorded.
The second Carrington Event occurred March 15th 1989 with Quebec, Canada as its epicenter. A wave of ten X-class solar flares set off in rapid succession which was Earth directed knocking out Quebec's largest power grid. 6,000,000.00 people went without power during one of Montreal's worse ice storms. A great number of the population went without power for up to three weeks. The community survived by relying on their neighbors. Homes with a fireplace were the only source of warmth for thousands.
The third Carrington Event was actually a 'near-miss' occurrence. It occurred on November 4th 2003 and is also known as The Halloween Event. The sunspot group had just rotated around the Sun's western limb before exploding. If it had been Earth directed, no one is quite sure what the devastating results would be. This was the largest solar flare ever recorded measuring an X-45. It literally sent NOAA's and the USAF measuring instruments off-the-scale. They had to recalibrate their instruments which will now read solar events beyond X-50.
CMEs are associated with peaks in the activity of sunspots, which are knots of magnetism on the Sun's surface generated by subsurface movements of solar material. (Sunspots appear dark because they are cooler and therefore less bright than their hotter surroundings. ) Sunspot activity peaks about every 11 years; this 11-year cycle is, in turn, related to a 22-year cycle of reversals in the Sun's magnetic field.
During a typical 11-year sunspot cycle, the Sun hurls about 100 severe CMEs and about four extreme CMEs into the solar system--only a fraction of which usually hit the Earth. Such CMEs are most likely to occur during peaks in sunspot activity, and are less likely to occur during periods of low sunspot activity.
CMEs still occur during periods of low sunspot activity; but they are just fewer and further between than during active sunspot periods. It is still very possible for a fierce geomagnetic storm to occur during a solar minimum. The 1859 geomagnetic storm was the largest storm ever recorded; "but there is absolutely no reason why the Earth couldn't be hit by an equally or even more violent geomagnetic storm today, tomorrow, or the next day," said Sarah Gibson of the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in Boulder, Colo.
Because scientists vigilantly watch for CMEs through high-tech telescopes and because it usually takes two or three days for most of a CME's impacts to reach the Earth, scientists can anticipate geomagnetic storms once Earth-directed CMEs start. Nevertheless, scientists cannot yet forecast when CMEs will start.
With funding from the National Science Foundation, scientists at NCAR are currently using various methods to improve their understanding of CMEs and their ability to forecast them. Among these methods are computer simulations of CMEs that describe their physical properties based on conditions on the Sun and Earth and the laws of magnetism, electricity, gravity and thermodynamics- -as shown in the above image and an animated simulation of a CME.
Some simulations are based on hypothetical data that is designed to reflect typical solar events. But other simulations are based on specific data collected on a particular day and are designed to recreate actual CMEs. Data incorporated into such simulations may include, for example, the Earth's position relative to the Sun during the CME; the mass, composition, size and electrical charge of the CME; and conditions immediately around the Earth upon the CME's arrival. By comparing their simulation with direct observations of the real-life CME it was designed to recreate, scientists can evaluate their simulation's accuracy and improve it.

Chile: Post-Earthquake UFO Terrified Bus Passengers
inexplicata - In the early hours of March 1, 2010, passengers aboard a bus driving through Iquique were witnesses to a terrifying situation.
A woman's screams wakened all of the passengers, who joined her in looking out the window.
"A vertical cylindrical object appeared on the coast, resembling a fluorescent bulb. At the same time, a top-shaped structure appeared out of the sea, surrounded by lights. Suddenly, they saw a long-armed, humanoid entity standing nearly three meters tall, issuing light and walking toward the highway. This caused panic," said Enrique Silva to Publimetro. Silva is a UFO expert and is researching this case along with retired Chilean Air Force General Ricardo Bermudez.
These were not the only witnesses to the event: other locals saw the same phenomenon. "We are still gathering background information and eyewitness accounts. Some students we interviewed told us that the driver and his assistant took photos of the event, which would represent very valuable material. This is a very interesting and well-documented case. I haven't had anything like it in Chile in at least 20 years," said Silva.
Journalist Juan Andrés Salfate said: "There are two theories to explain the apparitions of UFOs after a catastrophe. The first is that they live among us, underground, and engage in operations to lift off, thus becoming visible. The other is that they live in a state of vigilance, and follow our procedures and reactions."

NOTE: For more than a week, a mysterious pulsating light has appeared nightly over Lake Erie east of downtown Cleveland....showing up at approximately 7:30 pm local time and zipping around in the darkness for about two hours. I haven't posted much on this because, frankly, I believe there is a more conventional explanation to these light anomalies. But, it is interesting and somewhat amusing watching the media suddenly go ga-ga over a phenomenon that has been witnessed and documented over Lake Erie for as long as I can remember. Some will say that it is good recognition for the UFO community and I agree....to a point. If this truly does turn out to be something conventional then, I fear, the 'good fight' will suffer another setback in the eyes of the general public. I do have to give MUFON some credit for not jumping to conclusions on this and for actually making it known that they are in the field. As I like to say, I attempt to present the available information for those seeking the truth...the conclusion is up to you.
Pyramid UFO over Colombia
Yesterday, as I was sluething through the piles of internet sites and emails I came across this little ditty.
Turns out floating pyramids are not just for communist countries (and I am well aware that Russia is no longer the USSR, but as far as I am concerned those vodka swilling sum-bitches will always be Red to me...). Over the city of Bogota, Columbia another floating pyramid shape was seen in the sky.
This video, shot by a local news team on March 13, 2010, claims that the object had also been seen in the skies above Venezuela but that bombastic almost dictator Hugo Chavez had his air force chase it away (it is important to note that Hug Chavez is a known liar). This would be the third time in four months that a floating pyramid has been seen in the skies of various cities around the world.There's been a lot of talk lately about what's happening underground, from DARPA's Transparent Earth program to subterranean navigation systems (for real). Not to be out-DARPA'd by DARPA, the Defense Threat Reduction Agency is seeking a "one-time use, air-delivered, highly mobile vehicle" that can tunnel into the earth and deliver a munitions payload underground.
The idea is for the Robotic Underground Munition to make a soft landing after being dropped from an aircraft, at which point it would traverse surface terrain to a predetermined point and start tunneling, autonomously navigating underground until it locates its target. The RUM could then deliver a payload, which could range from a strongly worded letter to a warhead.

Solar 'Current of Fire' Speeds Up
What in the world is the sun up to now? In today's issue of Science, NASA solar physicist David Hathaway reports that the top of the sun's Great Conveyor Belt has been running at record-high speeds for the past five years. "I believe this could explain the unusually deep solar minimum we've been experiencing," says Hathaway. "The high speed of the conveyor belt challenges existing models of the solar cycle and it has forced us back to the drawing board for new ideas." The Great Conveyor Belt is a massive circulating current of fire (hot plasma) within the sun. It has two branches, north and south, each taking about 40 years to complete one circuit. Researchers believe the turning of the belt controls the sunspot cycle. Hathaway has been monitoring the conveyor belt using data from the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO). The top of the belt skims the surface of the sun, sweeping up knots of solar magnetism and carrying them toward the poles. SOHO is able to track those knots—Hathaway calls them "magnetic elements"--and thus reveal the speed of the underlying flow.
Toward 2012: Sun Begins New Solar Cycle, Flinging Radiation At The Earth
As a new solar cycle of activity begins this year, the Earth will once again be bombarded with increased radiation from the sun. This effect may damage satellites and interfere with GPS, television and communications. In ancient history, men would sometimes look up into the extreme northern or southern skies and see flickering green or blue lights shimmering across heavens. These auroras were often attributed to the gods, for what else could explain such displays? Today we have a more scientific explanation for the polar lights, known as aurora borealis in the Northern Hemisphere and aurora australis in the Southern: the effect is caused by charged particles from the sun colliding with the Earth's magnetic field. This phenomenon is just one side effect of what is called space weather. The fact is that the Earth is constantly pelted with radiation from the sun, which can play havoc with a society that is increasingly dependent on its high-tech toys. But for hikers, drivers, pilots and ship's captains, perhaps the biggest concern is that interference from the solar radiation could mislead or disable their global positioning system (GPS) signal.
A French game show which featured contestants willingly delivering what they believed were near lethal electric shocks to a rival has been aired. Those behind the show say the experiment has exposed the dangerous influence of television. Featuring a roaring crowd and a glamorous hostess, the show had all the usual trappings of a traditional television quiz show. But what the contestants did not know was that they were taking part in an experiment to see if they could be pushed to morally outrageous lengths. The experiment features in a documentary due to be broadcast in France today, called How Far Will Television Go? The stunt is a reproduction of an experiment conducted by Yale psychologist Stanley Milgram in the 1960s, in which volunteers were ordered to inflict electric shocks on a student in order to improve memory. The programme used the ruse of a TV show to explore how even a game show host had the authority to persuade participants to inflict horrendous pain on other people. 'It's more about the notion of power than about the individual,' the show's producer, Christophe Nick told Reuters Television. 'When a person is alone, face to face with someone abusing their power, then he or she becomes completely malleable and obedient.'
Teen Kills Child To Attain Occult Powers
A teenaged girl in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr district allegedly killed a three-year-old boy to 'attain occult powers', police said on Friday. The 15-year-old girl strangulated the child of her neighbour late on Thursday evening in the Chandiyana village of Bulandshahr, some 400 km from Lucknow. 'While the girl was performing some prayers with the body of the boy at a secluded place, some villagers noticed her and started assaulting her with wooden sticks,' police inspector Hari Singh told reporters in the district. 'We rushed to the spot and got the girl admitted to a hospital. Preliminary investigations reveal that she killed the three-year-old boy on the directions of some of her relatives involved in occult practices,' he added. The girl, who is being treated at a hospital, has been booked for killing the boy. Her parents were arrested a few months back for killing a two-year-old girl in a human sacrifice.
US Military Behind Haiti Quake, Says Innsbruck Scientist

Innsbruck political scientist Claudia von Werlhof has accused the USA of being behind the Haitian earthquake in January, it emerged today (Tues). According to a report on tirol.orf.at, Werlhof said that machines at a military research centre in Alaska used to detect deposits of crude oil by causing artificial earthquakes might have been intentionally set off to cause the Haitian earthquake and enable the USA to send 10,000 soldiers into the country. Ferdinand Karlhofer, the head of the Innsbruck Political Science Institute where von Werlhof works, has slammed her comments. He said such conspiracy theory had no scientific basis and her claim would damage the reputation of the Institute abroad.
