SpaceX to Launch Private Dragon ISS Shuttle in Mid-2010
With the space shuttle ceasing service next year and the Constellation program unprepared to launch before 2014, NASA will spend at least four years planted firmly on the ground. But NASA's hiatus is the private space industry's gain, and commercial space carrier Space Exploration Technologies -- or SpaceX, for brevity's sake -- plans to launch its Dragon spacecraft on her maiden voyage to the International Space Station between May and November of next year.
Following on the heels of Virgin Galactic's unveiling of its commercial spacecraft last week, Hawthorne, Calif.-based SpaceX also said it has conducted its first training session with a handful of NASA astronauts that will eventually dock the unmanned Dragon craft with the ISS. Three of the astronauts will be aboard the ISS when that first Dragon spacecraft, carrying resupply cargo to the station, makes contact with the ISS next year.

The Dragon capsules will ride into orbit aboard SpaceX's own medium-lift Falcon 9 rockets, which will make their own debut in February barring any setbacks. Temple Altar Construction Begins on Day of Destruction

(IsraelNN.com) The Temple Institute began work on the sacrificial altar Thursday, Tisha B’av, the day the Second Temple was destroyed almost 2,000 years ago.
The Temple Institute has already built several of the Temple vessels such as the Ark and the menorah, and has now embarked on an ambitious project to build the altar, which will ultimately measure 3 meters wide by 3 meters long and 2 meters tall.
During Thursday’s ceremony, which took place in Mitzpe Yericho just east of Jerusalem, the Temple Institute laid the cornerstone for the altar and demonstrated how tar will be used to cement the stones together. The Institute plans on bringing the altar to its proper place on the Temple Mount when the Temple is rebuilt.
“Today, Tisha B’av, is not just a time to mourn the destruction of the Temple,” said Rabbi Yisrael Ariel, the head of the Temple Institute. “It is also a time to build.”
Rabbi Ariel thanked the more than 100 people who came to the event despite their fasting for Tisha B’Av, and despite the hot weather. The main force behind the construction of the altar, Yonaton Tzadok, was also on hand to explain why its stones were taken straight from the Dead Sea.
“The altar is supposed to represent going back to our roots, to the time of creation when everything was pure,” he said. “We took rocks from the Dead Sea, where it is likely that they were never touched by human hands.”
During the ceremony, many people who came to watch were surprised when they were invited to take part and pour tar onto the cornerstones. Rabbi Ariel first asked if there were any Kohanim (priests) in the crowd, and asked them start. When a woman requested to join in, Rabbi Ariel said "of course" and emphasized that women are commanded to build the Temple as well.

Solar storm in 2013 could trigger giant power outage -- or not
Computerworld - Alarmist news reports earlier this year warned that solar storms coming in 2012 will cripple electric power, GPS equipment and communications systems for months, creating an electronic apocalypse not dreamt of since the days of pre-Y2k hysteria. Those reports then spread throughout a blogosphere already saturated with hype about the Hollywood disaster flick 2012.
The truth is more complicated.
Solar storms bombard the Earth's magnetic field with bursts of radiation, which can in turn disrupt the power grid and satellites. In fact, "the great geomagnetic storm of March 1989" zapped northeastern Canada's Hydro-Quebec power grid, leaving millions of people without electricity for up to nine hours, according to a National Academy of Sciences report.
In a worst-case scenario, a solar storm could cause $1 trillion to $2 trillion in damage to the world's high-tech infrastructure, the 2008 report said.
But the severity of the next solar storm is unclear, as is the timing.
Several years ago, NASA predicted that the peak in the next cycle of solar weather would occur in 2012 -- a date that coincidentally aligned with other forecasts of doom. The space agency's more recent prediction (made May 29) said the peak for sunspot activity will be in May 2013 -- though additional revisions are expected.

When our Sun begins to die, it will become a red giant as it runs out of hydrogen fuel at its core. Astronomers have a pretty good idea of what will transpire: the sun will swell to a size so large that it will swallow every planet out to Mars in our solar system. Don't worry, though, this won't happen for another 5 billion years. But now, astronomers have been able to watch in detail the death of a sun-like star about 550 light-years from Earth to get a better grasp on what the end might be for our Sun. The star, Chi Cygni, has swollen in size, and is now writhing in its death throes. The star has begun to pulse dramatically in and out, beating like a giant heart. New close-up photos of the surface of this distant star show its throbbing motions in unprecedented detail.
"This work opens a window onto the fate of our Sun five billion years from now, when it will near the end of its life," said Sylvestre Lacour of the Observatoire de Paris, who led a team of astronomers studying Chi Cygni.
The scientists compared the star to a car running out of gas. The "engine" begins to sputter and pulse. On Chi Cygni, the sputterings show up as a brightening and dimming, caused by the star's contraction and expansion.
For the first time, astronomers have photographed these dramatic changes in detail.
"We have essentially created an animation of a pulsating star using real images," stated Lacour. "Our observations show that the pulsation is not only radial, but comes with inhomogeneities, like the giant hotspot that appeared at minimum radius."

Stars at this life stage are known as Mira variables. As it pulses, the star is puffing off its outer layers, which in a few hundred thousand years will create a beautifully gleaming planetary nebula.
Chi Cygni pulses once every 408 days. At its smallest diameter of 300 million miles, it becomes mottled with brilliant spots as massive plumes of hot plasma roil its surface, like the granules seen on our Sun's surface, but much larger. As it expands, Chi Cygni cools and dims, growing to a diameter of 480 million miles – large enough to engulf and cook our solar system's asteroid belt.
Imaging variable stars is an extremely difficult task. First, Mira variables hide within a compact and dense shell of dust and molecules. To study the stellar surface within the shell, astronomers need to observe the stars in infrared light, which allows them to see through the shell of molecules and dust, like X-rays enable physicians to see bones within the human body.
Secondly, these stars are very far away, and thus appear very small. Even though they are huge compared to the Sun, the distance makes them appear no larger than a small house on the moon as seen from Earth. Traditional telescopes lack the proper resolution. Consequently, the team turned to a technique called interferometry, which involves combining the light coming from several telescopes to yield resolution equivalent to a telescope as large as the distance between them.
They used the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory's Infrared Optical Telescope Array, or IOTA, which was located at Whipple Observatory on Mount Hopkins, Arizona.
"IOTA offered unique capabilities," said co-author Marc Lacasse of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (CfA). "It allowed us to see details in the images which are about 15 times smaller than can be resolved in images from the Hubble Space Telescope."
The team also acknowledged the usefulness of the many observations contributed annually by amateur astronomers worldwide, which were provided by the American Association of Variable Star Observers (AAVSO).
In the forthcoming decade, the prospect of ultra-sharp imaging enabled by interferometry excites astronomers. Objects that, until now, appeared point-like are progressively revealing their true nature. Stellar surfaces, black hole accretion disks, and planet forming regions surrounding newborn stars all used to be understood primarily through models. Interferometry promises to reveal their true identities and, with them, some surprises.
The new observations of Chi Cygni are reported in the December 10 issue of The Astrophysical Journal.

City OKs Dragon's Dome deal
The city of Pekin OK’d a deal to partially finance the private purchase of the Dragon’s Dome at its meeting Monday night.
The Pekin City Council voted 6 to 1 to loan Central Illinois Sports Alliance LLC $500,000 to purchase the dome for $1.15 million. The other $650,000 is to come from conventional financing to be acquired by the business, said Pekin City Manager Dennis Kief.
“It has been, I think, a pretty thoughtful process over the past weeks and months to determine what the best route was to take on this,” said Pekin Mayor Rusty Dunn. “And at this point, helping facilitate the purchase of the dome complex seems to be the best opportunity to put us in a good position of success in this community.
“I’m very optimistic and I’m very excited about this path.”
Tom Blanchard said he voted “no” because he thought the loan money should have come from the Pekin Economic Development Investment Fund (PEDIF) and not the tourism fund. Kief and members of council said the tourism fund is the most logical place for the money to come from because it can only be spent on specifically defined items like the Dome purchase. Kief said the PEDIF was designed to lure big box retailers and industrial companies to the city, a use that the dome does not fit under.
Kief also said that PEDIF money comes from the general fund, while tourism dollars do not.
The deal has Central Illinois Sports Alliance acquiring about 33 acres of property, including the 76,000-square-foot dome, a 7,000-square-foot attached support building, four lighted softball diamonds, a concession building and a parking lot with more than 500 spaces.

December 14, 2009 (FinancialWire) -- Black Dragon Resource Companies, Inc.'s (BDGR) chairman and CEO, Scott D. Smith, said the initial well on Dragon's 640 acre lease has been drilled to the top of the Nachitoches gas cap rock, and site preparation has begun on the second well location.
The second well will be drilled by the end of this week and upon its completion, a smaller rig will be brought in to air drill the last portion of both wells. This process ensures that the wells will be capable of capturing the maximum amount of gas in this delicate formation. If the main drilling rig was to fully complete these wells, Dragon would run the risk of damaging its future returns.
The recently mentioned Paluxy well, in which Dragon owns a small interest, has been brought into production this week and has shown excellent results. Paluxy oil is much thicker and more viscous than many other varieties, so the interest owners are installing a heat treatment unit which is necessary for this type of production to be marketed in the current cold climate.
Smith further remarked that Dragon is currently in negotiations to acquire a possible 40% interest in a lease that is comprised of 14 wells and has an excellent production history for a stock issuance. This lease has averaged 215 barrels of oil per month over the last year which would be a nice asset to add to Dragon's portfolio.
Black Dragon is an oil and gas exploration and production company currently focused on the acquisition of mature, producing and existing domestic oil and gas fields.
Archaeologists Claim They've Found Lost City Of Atlantis (VIDEO)
Undersea archaeologists have found the ruins of an ancient city on the bottom of the Caribbean Sea, and researchers claim that it is the fabled and lost city of Atlantis. The satellite photos do show something that could be a city, and the researchers believe that what they've found would predate the pyramids of Egypt. Indeed they claim to be able to make out a pyramid and other city-like structures from the satellite photos.
The archaeologists have so far refused to divulge their identities or the location in the Caribbean. They say they are raising money for an expedition to confirm their findings.

Yellowstone Super-Volcano Far More Dangerous Than Previously Thought

The most detailed seismic images yet published of the plumbing that feeds the Yellowstone super-volcano shows a plume of hot and molten rock rising at an angle from the northwest at a depth of at least 410 miles, contradicting claims that there is no deep plume, only shallow hot rock moving like slowly boiling soup.
A related University of Utah study used gravity measurements to indicate the banana-shaped magma chamber of hot and molten rock a few miles beneath Yellowstone is 20 percent larger than previously believed, so a future cataclysmic eruption could be even larger than thought.
The study's of Yellowstone' s plume also suggests the same "hotspot" that feeds Yellowstone volcanism also triggered the Columbia River "flood basalts" that buried parts of Oregon, Washington state and Idaho with lava starting 17 million years ago.
Those are key findings in four National Science Foundation-funded studies in the latest issue of the Journal of Volcanology and Geothermal Research. The studies were led by Robert B. Smith, research professor and professor emeritus of geophysics at the University of Utah and coordinating scientist for the Yellowstone Volcano Observatory.
"We have a clear image, using seismic waves from earthquakes, showing a mantle plume that extends from beneath Yellowstone, '' Smith says.
The plume angles downward 150 miles to the west-northwest of Yellowstone and reaches a depth of at least 410 miles, Smith says. The study estimates the plume is mostly hot rock, with 1 percent to 2 percent molten rock in sponge-like voids within the hot rock.

ClimateGate: Al Gore Spews The Usual Nonsense But This Time No One Believes Him
Something truly remarkable happened at Copenhagen yesterday. Al Gore told yet another of his massive whoppers about made up data that doesn't exist. But this time no one believed him.
Here's how the Times reported it: Mr. Gore, speaking at the Copenhagen climate change summit, stated the latest research showed that the Arctic could be completely ice-free in five years.
In his speech, Mr. Gore told the conference: "These figures are fresh. Some of the models suggest to Dr. Wieslav Maslowski that there is a 75 per cent chance that the entire north polar ice cap, during the summer months, could be completely ice-free within five to seven years."
However, climatologist Maslowski, whose work Mr. Gore was relying upon dropped the former Vice-President in the water with an icy blast.
Dr. Maslowski responded quickly: "It's unclear to me how this figure was arrived at, I would never try to estimate likelihood at anything as exact as this."

Eugenicists who view people as a plague upon the earth are crafting policies that are killing millions in the third world
2012: Is it Possible?
Much attention is being given to the Mayan prophesy of the end of the world as we know it in 2012. Many Christians are re-reading their bibles to compare the predictions, and current events to the book of Revelation and other prophetic passages. Concern over world and government affairs fuel further speculation about if we are in the "last days", as predicted by Jesus and other passages of the Bible.
If it were just the Mayans who were predicting a catastrophic event in 2012 it would probably be ignored, but further research has revealed other sources that also predict some kind of world shaking event in the same period. What is the truth?
A movie was just released based on this prediction that while very imaginative and with spectacular special effects is wildly speculative about what will happen. First, it is not certain whether the Mayans predicted the end of the world or just a changing of the guard of an era. They divided the history of the world into cycles of approximately 5125 years each. The last cycle, or long count began on 11 August, 3114 BCE in the proleptic Gregorian calendar or 6 September in the Julian calendar (-3113 astronomical). according to the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar.
This would all be just so much speculation except for a number of things that seem to come together at the same time.
The 11 year sunspot cycle, which amateur radio operators like myself love for worldwide communications, and which disrupts satelite and TV communications, has its next maximum close to this date. This is when solar activity on the surface of the sun is at its greatest. We have had solar flares in the past which were devastating to power grids and high frequency transmissions and such a flare that caused even more damage is possible.
According to solar physicist David Hathaway of the Marshall Space Flight Center in Wikipedia, "Solar cycle 24, due to peak in 2010 or 2011 "looks like its going to be one of the most intense cycles since record-keeping began almost 400 years ago," says. The actual maximum has been known to not occur exactly on time and has in the past been late.
The Mayans were also astronomers 'par excellente' and accurately predicted a very special event for our solar system that only occurs every 26,000 years. As the sun orbits the center of the Milky Way galaxy it oscillates up and down through the 'galactic plane'. Picture the galactic plane as flat, like a thick pancake and our sun and its planets bobbing up and down through this area every 13,000 years.
The area of the galactic plane has a greater density of interstellar matter to pass through than when the sun is at either the top of the bottom of this cycle. It is well known by astronomers and physicists that as the sun passes through a greater density of interstellar matter, it will tend to 'heat up' the surface by a very small amount.
Whether this will add to the solar activity in a significant way or not is not entirely known. It is strange that the Mayan predicted this precise event hundreds of years ago, without the modern instruments we depend on today.
Another possibility is that the earth's magnetic poles are about to reverse. This has happened many times in the past according to geologic records. Evidence is mounting that it is about to happen again. No one knows for sure what the effect will be.
The movie, 2012 explained all the events that happen as due to increased solar activity and a giant solar flare that heated up the earth's core with a flood of 'Neutrinos', with a microwave-like effect. NASA has said this is impossible, but Neutrino's are "ghostlike" particles that can pass through any matter supposedly without an effect because they are small and without a charge. Yet both the US and the Japanese have attempted to "detect" these particles as 'flashes of light' in huge underground tanks of liquids for years. "Flashes of light" are an effect. Which is it? No effect, or the effect we have been looking for, for so long?
Who is to say that for neutrinos, on something as huge as the earth's core, which is composed completely of Iron and heavy elements, there wouldn't be an effect of significant proportions, such as a 'microwave effect'. There would certainly be SOME "collisions" of the particles, with an object as dense and heavy as the earth's core, with some form of energy given off. How can we say "no effect" to an event we have never encountered inside or outside of the laboratory before.
We also have another possibility that is overdue according to geologic evidence. That is the Yellowstone supervolcano threat. With events happening, on average, every 600,000 years, and the last one 640,000 years ago, it can happen tomorrow, or not for another 50,000 years.
All of these threats make it hard to say that 2012 is impossible and that it couldn't happen.
While reading the book of Revelation I noticed a passage I have mulled over many times, considering what it could mean. Revelation chapter 21, verse 1 says, "And I saw a new Heaven and a new Earth, for the first heaven and the first earth has passed away."
God told Abraham, "I will bless thy seed as the stars of the Heaven". This makes clear that when God speaks of Heaven, He is talking of the universe and the stars. It is possible that our view of the heavens will change after 2012. It will not be a change that we will see or notice as "different", except it will be a symbolic "new heaven". How?
When we pass from Dec. 31 to Jan. 1 we celebrate a new year, even though there is little physical difference between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31. It is a symbolic change. If the "heavens" are above us in the sky we look at each night, we will be looking at a symbolic 'new' heaven in 2013 because the heaven that was above the galactic plane before that time will then be on the opposite side of it from us. The 'new' heaven will be the sky that is "below" the galactic plane, on the same side as the sun and the solar system. Don't look for that difference in the sky because it will look no different, but our earth will theoretically and symbolically have a new 'sky' above it, in much the same way that we observe the moment that the sun passes through the Winter Solstice, as the beginning of a new season.
What about a 'new earth'? If a natural catastrophe occurs around that time also, such as the Yellowstone event, or an asteroid collision, of which several have been near misses lately, or a "Pole Shift" as some expect, we would then have a 'new earth'. The bible predicts that there will be a time such as has not occurred since the 'foundation of the world' in the last days. All of these events could qualify for that title.
While there have been many times that some have pointed to and said "We are in the last days", and were wrong, it is not impossible that something catastrophic can happen in 2012. Maybe it is all just a media blitz and speculation. Perhaps not.

The scientific mystery of the ultimate source of the Dec. 9, 2009 Norway spiral light deepened with the revelation of a Dec. 9 pyramid UFO over the Kremlin in Red Square, Moscow (the same night as the Norway light) and of similar vortex lights to the Norway light over Russia and China. No definitive solution has been yet offered for these phenomena, assuming they are related. Aside from the conventional explanation of Russian missile failure, the major alternative scientifically based alternative explanations offered so far include:
(1) Extraterrestrial civilizations causing both the giant UFO pyramid over the Kremlin and the failure of the Russian Bulava missile (which led to the Norway light spiral), as a context communication message to the Russian military establishment to cease its development of intercontinental missiles;
(2) HAARP, the space-based weapon of mass destruction, caused the electromagnetic plasma light effects visible over Norway on Nov. 9, on the eve of Barack Obama’s Nobel Prize speech either as a warning to Barack Obama, or as a possible Project Blue Beam mass psychological conditioner assuming Obama is an agent of a corporate new world order. The Kremlin pyramid UFO could be a Project Blue Beam artificial electromagnetic or plasma artifact under this hypothesis.
Other interpretations concluded, “that it could be a wormhole opening up, while others linked the event to the recent high-energy experiments undertaken at the Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland.”
An extraterrestrial context communication?
The video above captures a large pyramidal UFO over the Kremlin, the seat of Executive power and residence of the Russian President in Red Square, Moscow on the night of Dec. 9, 2009, the same night as the Norway vortal lights.
The context communication theory of extraterrestrial communication posits that extraterrestrial or UFO encounters can be symbolic communications from a higher intelligent civilization to a human civilization.
Jean-Charles Duboc of Exopolitics France and Dr. Michael Salla are the principal proponents of the extraterrestrial communication interpretation. Mr. Duboc writes:
“The [Nov. 9, 2009] failure of the [Russian Bulava missile] and the UFO over the Kremlin - the interpretations that I give are these:
“1 / These two demonstrations of technological power are primarily intended for military and political power in Russia.
“2 / The Sixth failure of Bulava missile, if it was caused by an extraterrestrial civilization, is a condemnation of such tests.
“3 / These two events are a destabilization of military power (failure of the missile) and political power (a UFO over the Kremlin).
“4 / These two events are also a warning if not a threat:
- A threat to the military to destroy their nuclear toys.
-A threat to the political power by making them understand that they are not immune to aggressive action, domination, right in Moscow.

-Hope - Stopping a final race for weapons of mass destruction if a civilization intervenes.
-Hope to make contact with extraterrestrial civilizations and benefit from technologies to solve energy problems and climate.

Mr. Duboc does not provide analysis as to why the Dec. 9 Norway lights are not HAARP or a similar Project Blue Beam-connected mass conditioning phenomenon.
The China and Russia vortex lights
China vortex light phenomenon (above) starts at 37 seconds.
The China (video posted on Dec. 11, 2009, starting at 37 seconds) demonstrates a spiral vortex light, which some have interpreted as a wormhole to other dimensions.
The Russia video is a phenomenon which is remarkably similar to the Dec. 9, 2009 Norway light. One commentary on the Russian video states: “Very strange clip of beams of light seemingly coming out of nowhere in the night sky in Tomsk Russia. As the beams disappear a galaxy shaped spiral of light appears and forms from above. *Note: An alternative explanation could be that it is a 3 stage rocket launch, when the boosters disengage the next stage malfunctions and spirals out of control.”
Both the China and the Russia vortex lights appear susceptible to interpretation as either (1) failures of a missile or similar aerospace hardware; (2) extraterrestrial or interdimensionally induced phenomena or (3) HAARP or other electromagnetically induced plasma light phenomena.
Two researchers, David Wilcock and Richard Hoagland have independently posited that HAARP, a space-based weapon of mass destruction one of whose antenna fields is close to the site of the Norwegian spiral light. According to one of the researchers, David Wilcock, one of his confidential sources stated the Norway spiral light was part of Project Blue Beam. Mr. Wilcock's interview appears on the Project Camelot Radio show with Kerry Cassidy.
Mr. Wilcock’s discussion of the plasma effects of the 18-layered energy field surrounding the Norway light seem to be persuasive that HAARP may indeed be the source of those, as well as the China and Russia lights. If some case were to be made that the Dec. 9 Kremlin UFO were a human artificial Blue Beam construct as well, Project Blue beam would be the common denominator behind all of these events.
One of the alleged purposes of Project Blue Beam is the use of advanced electromagnetic imaging such as that produced by HAARP and exhibited in the Norway spiral light as a psychological mass conditioning device in aid of the implementation of a global corporate new world order.
How to evaluate interpretations of these impactful phenomena
The Dec. 9 Norway lights and Kremlin pyramid UFO had world-wide media impact.
Evaluating whether the Dec. 9 Norway light, Kremlin pyramid UFO, and Russia and China vortex lights are either an (1) extraterrestrially-induced phenomenon or (2) Project Blue Beam mass psychological warfare operations is a matter of scientific and pattern discernment.
Thus far, the proponents of the extraterrestrial interpretation have not fully provided analysis as to why the Norway, Russia and China lights, and Kremlin UFO are not Project Blue Beam, and the proponents that HAARP is the cause have similarly not authoritatively dismissed the extraterrestrial interpretation of the lights and Kremlin UFO.
Either way, the outcome may be positive. If these Norway, Russia and China lights and Kremlin UFO phenomena are HAARP and Project Blue Beam-related, then this mass deception, in which the persona of Barack Obama is coordinated with Kremlin power in a corporate new world order, is being unmasked.
On the other had, if the phenomena are extraterrestrially related, the outcome is equally positive, as it implies an extraordinary degree of extraterrestrial intervention to avoid nuclear war.
Failed missile launch or returning prophet?
Confusion reigned in Norway and indeed across the globe as an eerie spiralling blue light behind a mountain in Tromso led to alien enthusiasts heralding a new arrival.
Hundreds of UFO sightings were reported in the wake of the latest failure in test-firing a Russian missile. The turquoise glow rose into the sky in northern Norway before falling in a spectacular descent accompanied by green beams of light in a display that lasted for nearly ten minutes.
Norwegian meteorological officers were inundated with calls from confused and curious locals.
Russian authorities later confirmed that the aliens were in fact failed military hardware after initially refusing to comment on the incident. The missile was launched from a submarine in the early hours of the 9th December and is believed to be the seventh failure from twelve test launches.
“At least this failed test made some nice fireworks for the Norwegians,” said leading defence expert Pavel Felgenhauer who added that the public malfunction was actually highly embarrassing.
The claim that the event was a failed missile launch was dismissed by The Share International Foundation which instead claimed that the light display was a signal that the World Teacher Maitreya would soon be making his first appearance…for an interview on US television.
