In an interview you can hear tomorrow night on the Earth Changes TV – Radio Hour, you will hear Mayan elder Carlos Barrios tell us of a surprising prediction brought forth from a meeting of Mayan elders in Guatemala. To my surprise, Carlos is telling us the “Deep Impact” space probe launched by NASA on January 12th will create unexpected consequences.
“Deep Impact” is the first space mission to probe beneath the surface of a comet and reveal the secrets of its interior. It is set to collide with “Comet Temple 1” on July 4th 2005. That’s right, the 4th of July. Is this a Hollywood stunt, or is it a prophetic indicator of things to come? On collision, the crater produced is expected to range in size from that of a house to that of a football stadium, and two to fourteen stories deep. Ice and dust debris will be ejected from the crater revealing fresh material beneath. But Mayan elders tell us than ice and dust debris is all that will occur.
NASA tells us the ice and dust debris data will be analyzed and combined with that of other NASA and international comet missions. Results from these missions will lead to a better understanding of both the solar system’s formation and implications of comets colliding with Earth.
I did ask Carlos if this is related to Hopi prophecy telling us of the “Blue Kachina”. Carlos told me he has spoke with Hopi elder Lopez. He was told it “is not” the prophesized Blue Kachina. “It is not comet Temple 1”. Carlos did tell of an escalation of earth changing events to occur as a result of this unprecedented event. It will produce some kind of shock wave which will have an unknown effect in our solar system and on planet Earth.

Two Alaska volcanoes show signs of eruption
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (Reuters) — One Alaska volcano has been emitting small bursts of ash for three weeks and another is being shaken by tremors, indicating that eruptions are possible at both within weeks, seismologists said Monday.
Mount Veniaminof on the Alaska Peninsula began spitting out ash earlier this month, and the volcano could be on the verge of a larger blowout, according to the federal-state Alaska Volcano Observatory.
The Federal Aviation Administration has imposed flight restrictions over the 7,073-foot volcano located 480 miles southwest of Anchorage. No ash had fallen Monday on the closest community, Perryville, home to 110 people and located 22 miles to the south.

Now I’m not saying that we don’t have a few environmental problems, however just because we see more of these stories in the media should not lead us to the concluscion that things are getting worse.

A SMALL POLE SHIFT CAN PRODUCE MOST, IF NOT ALL, OF THE EARTH CHANGES
When speculating about the path of the upcoming pole shift, it makes sense to start with available scientific information on the present drift-direction of the north pole. (Data for the south pole are unavailable, but a movement direction identical to that of the north pole is assumed throughout the article). It is much harder to speculate about the distance of a pole shift than it is to estimate its direction. The approach used here is, wherever possible, to work backward from Earth-change descriptions in the Cayce readings to infer the minimum degree of pole shift that could produce those changes. Positing too large a pole shift will give outrageously improbable Earth-change results.
What we are looking for is a credible first approximation to the minimum degree of pole shift necessary to achieve all of the Earth changes predicted in Cayce’s readings. Wild speculations about pole shifts of many degrees of latitude are not necessary, and they raise more problems than they solve. Preservation of the Earth’s ice sheets, for example, cannot be accommodated by a pole shift of more than about 10 degrees. Ice in Greenland and Antarctica has been in place for more than 125,000 years, and so past pole shifts inferred from the readings could not have amounted to more than a few degrees, to preserve the ice during this period of time.

A LIGHTNING bolt may be behind reports of an earth tremor in Melbourne early this morning.
The earth may have moved for residents but experts say they did not feel a thing. Geoscience Australia, the national body which measures earthquakes, said there was no evidence of an earth tremor in Melbourne, despite radio reports of one this morning.
A spokesman for electricity supplier Powercor said the company’s theory was that the rumblings, reported to have happened about 3.08am, might have something to do with a lightning bolt that struck a power pole in Melton in Melbourne’s west.
The lightning blew the 6m pole and an attached transformer to bits, leaving nothing more than a stump, the spokesman said.

ANTARCTIC ICE SHEET IS AN ‘AWAKENED GIANT’
The massive west Antarctic ice sheet, previously assumed to be stable, is starting to collapse, scientists warned on Tuesday.
Antarctica contains more than 90% of the world’s ice, and the loss of any significant part of it would cause a substantial sea level rise. Scientists used to view Antarctica as a “slumbering giant”, said Chris Rapley, from the British Antarctic Survey, but now he sees it as an “awakened giant”.

Emergency services received telephone calls about 10:30 pm (2130 GMT) Thursday reporting the object, described by some callers as looking like a meteorite, which was seen exploding and disintegrating.

NASA spaceborne instruments/missions sheds valuable insights into the Indian Ocean tsunami that resulted from the magnitude 9 earthquake southwest of Sumatra on December 26.

[World News]: DENVER, Feb. 2 : More than 500 aftershocks have now struck the Indian Ocean area where a giant earthquake hit on Dec. 26.
Data from the U.S. National Earthquake Information Center, which is continually updated, now show 516 signficant aftershocks have hit the area, consisting of the northern tip of the large Indonesian island of Sumatra, and the Nicobar and Andaman islands to the northwest, which are the territory of India.
Four moderate quakes joined the list Wednesday, ranging from magnitude 4.7 to magnitude 5.1. The original event registered magnitude 9.0 on the Richter scale, making it the world’s largest earthquake in 40 years, one that generated a series of tsunamis around the Indian Ocean basin, powerful waves that killed about 250,000 people.
HAARP TICKLES UPPER ATMOSPHERE
First Artificial Neon Sky Show Created
By shooting intense radio beams into the night sky, researchers created a modest neon light show visible from the ground. The process is not well understood, but scientists speculate it could one day be employed to light a city or generate celestial advertisements.
Researchers with the High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) project in Alaska tickled the upper atmosphere to the extent that it glowed with green speckles.
The speckles were sprinkled amid a natural display known as the aurora borealis, or Northern Lights. The aurora occurs when electrons from a cloud of hot gas, known as plasma, rain down from space and excite molecules in the ionosphere, about 30 miles (50 kilometers) up.
The HAARP experiment involves acres of antennas and a 1 megawatt generator. The scientists sent radio pulses skyward every 7.5 seconds, explained team leader Todd Pederson of the Air Force Research Laboratory.

Scientists working in Alaska have used such waves to make speckles of green light twinkle within the aurora borealis. The technique could help them to clear up the enigma of what causes the pulsating natural light shows.
“We were very surprised to see a significant effect,” says Todd Pedersen, a member of the Air Force Research Laboratory at Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts. The researchers had thought they would need statistics to pick out any effect from the radio waves. In fact, the sparkles were visible to the naked eye.

This is the shadowy domain of particle physics and the giant experiment taking shape in the tunnel is called the Large Hadron Collider. It is the brainchild of physicists at Cern, the pan-European physics laboratory that celebrated its 50th anniversary last year and created the world wide web, but is best known in some circles for inventing technology used in a plot to blow up the Vatican in the Dan Brown bestseller Angels and Demons.

Major areas of interest: the Juan de Fuca plate and eastward is still the biggest concern today which includes Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier. Despite recent information to the contrary, Mt. St. Helens is rumbling and pressure continues to build. There appears to be increased rumbling at Crater Lake in Oregon. The southeast coast of South America appears to have quake activity building in two places. Panama and Ecuador are still in stress (in spite of the fact that the USGS has failed to report over 300 earthquakes [4.0+] in this region over the last 12 days.) Current status is Volcano Advisory (Alert Level 2); aviation color code ORANGE
Growth of the new lava dome inside the crater of Mount St. Helens continues, accompanied by low rates of seismicity, low emissions of steam and volcanic gases, and minor production of ash. During such eruptions, episodic changes in the level of activity can occur over days to months. The eruption could also intensify suddenly or with little warning and produce explosions that cause hazardous conditions within several miles of the crater and farther downwind. Small lahars could suddenly descend the Toutle River if triggered by heavy rain or by interaction of hot rocks with snow and ice. These lahars pose a negligible hazard below the Sediment Retention Structure (SRS) but could pose a hazard along the river channel upstream.
Potential ash hazards:Wind forecasts from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), coupled with eruption models, show that ash clouds that rise above the crater rim today would drift eastward.
Recent observations: Several crews worked in the field yesterday. Installation of one continuous GPS station on the south flank was completed and installation of another on the southwest flank was started by UNAVCO and USGS personnel. An existing GPS station on the upper west flank was repaired, as was the DomeCam at the mouth of the crater. Geologists got good views and photographs of the crater and new lava dome and vertical aerial photographs were obtained from which a new digital elevation model (DEM) will be created. Extrusion of the new lava dome continues. Weather permitting tomorrow we will deploy by helicopter a new GPS and seismic instrument package (“spyder”) on the new lava dome and conduct a thermal-imaging flight.

Radar observations taken at the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico on January 27, 29, and 30 have significantly improved our estimate for the orbit of asteroid 2004 MN4 and changed the circumstances of the Earth close approach in 2029. On April 13, 2029, the predicted trajectory now passes within 5.7 Earth radii (36,350 km or 22,600 miles) of the Earth’s center – just below the altitude of geosynchronous Earth satellites. However, an Earth collision in 2029 is still ruled out. The asteroid’s motion subsequent to the 2029 Earth close approach is very sensitive to the circumstances of the close approach itself and a number of future Earth close approaches will be monitored as additional observations are received. However, our current risk analysis for 2004 MN4 indicates that no subsequent Earth encounters in the 21st century are of concern.
In the accompanying diagrams, the most likely trajectory of asteroid 2004 MN4 is shown as a blue line that passes near the Earth on 13 April 2029. The second of the two figures is an enlarged view of the Earth close approach circumstances. Since the asteroid’s position in space is not perfectly known at that time, the white dots at right angles to the blue line are possible alternate positions of the asteroid. Neither the nominal position of the asteroid, nor any of its possible alternative positions, touches the Earth, effectively ruling out an Earth impact in 2029. Based on unpublished albedo contraints, the diameter of the object is about 320 meters. At the time of the closest approach, the asteroid will be a naked eye object (3.3 mag.) traveling rapidly (42 degrees per hour!) through the constellation of Cancer. On average, one would expect a similarly close Earth approach by an asteroid of this size only every 1300 years or so.

SUMATRA QUAKE SHAKES UP ALASKAN VOLCANO
Energy from the giant Sumatra earthquake traveled 7,000 miles to shake up an Alaska volcano.
Mount Wrangell experienced “a small flurry of events” about one hour after the magnitude 9.0 earthquake struck off the coast of Sumatra on Dec. 26, 2004, according to John Sanchez of the Alaska Volcano Observatory. Sanchez checked out a number of Alaska volcanoes for increased activity following the giant earthquake and he found that Mt. Wrangell, a 14,163-foot volcano about 50 miles east of Copper Center, shook with at least 12 tiny earthquakes as the energy waves from across the globe passed through the mountain during a 10 minute-period.

February 4, 2005, marks exactly 40 days after the Asian ‘Great Flood’ (Dec. 26). This is symbolically significant because, as already talked about in the comments/forum, the _expression ’40 days and 40 nights’ found in the Book of Genesis cannot be separated from the story of Noah’s Flood, or more generally the notion of the ‘Ark’ – Noah’s and Moses’. Just as the rain of the Great Flood continued for ‘forty days and forty nights’ (Genesis 7:4, 12, 17, 8:6), Moses is said to have stayed with ‘God’ on Mount Sinai for ‘forty days and forty nights’ (Exodus 24:18, 34:28) receiving the Ten Commandments for which the Ark of the Covenant would be constructed.
This closely interacts with what I previously discussed regarding how the ‘Great Flood’ symbolism has now set the stage for Noah’s dove coming back after the deluge with an olive branch to signal the end of the flood. It was at dawn on January 31 that my last, lengthy piece was posted here in which I associated the olive with among other things the coming of the next Pope – and this was only hours before we started hearing about the Pope’s illness in the news.

Paradoxes of Time Travel
‘So how does all of this relate to time travel?
As we discussed earlier, the theory of relativity states that as the velocity of an object nears the speed of light, time slows down.
Scientists have discovered that even at the speeds of the space shuttle, astronauts can travel a few nanoseconds into the future. To understand this, picture two people, person A and person B. Person A stays on Earth, while person B takes off in a spacecraft. At takeoff, their watches are in perfect sync. The closer person B’s spacecraft travels to the speed of light, the slower time will pass for person B (relative to person A). If person B travels for just a few hours at 50 percent the speed of light and returns to Earth, it will be obvious to both people that person A has aged much faster than person B. This difference in aging is because time passed much faster for person A than person B, who was traveling closer to the speed of light. MALAYSIA ISSUE TSUNAMI WARNING
Thousands of Malaysians in Sabah state are returning home after fleeing to higher ground when the country issued its first tsunami alert.
The warning came after an undersea earthquake in neighbouring Philippines and resulted in panic and traffic jams among locals and tourists.
The Malaysian government says it will have an official tsunami warning system in place by the end of the year.

Corkscrew Meteor Mystery
While photographing the recently discovered comet Machholz the other night, Jimmy Westlake’s mind wandered back to a mystery that’d been bugging him for years. On Jan. 1, 1986, he was photographing another comet, Halley’s, through his homemade 8-inch reflecting telescope.
“About one minute into the exposure, I watched a meteor zip through the field of the telescope,” said Westlake, a professor of physical sciences at Colorado Mountain College in Steamboat Springs, CO. “I stopped the exposure at two minutes.”

Doorstep Astronomy: See Scorching Sirius
As darkness descends this week, cast a glance over toward the east-southeast and you will see a brilliant, bluish-white star scintillating just above the horizon. You’ll be looking at the brightest star in the sky, the Dog Star, Sirius.
Sirius is the brightest star of the constellation Canis Major, which is Latin for the “Greater Dog.” Among all the visible stars, Sirius is one of only four stars of negative magnitude (-1.44). The lower the figure of magnitude, the brighter the star.
Of the 21 brightest stars, twelve are considered to be of first magnitude, and five are of zero magnitude. But only Arcturus, Alpha Centauri, Canopus and Sirius are bright enough to be assigned a magnitude value lower than zero, or of a negative magnitude.
A Mysterious Streak Above Hawaii
What in heavens-above was that? Not everything seen on the night sky is understood. The Night Sky Live (NSL) project keeps its global array of continuously updating web cameras (CONCAMs) always watching the night sky. On the night of 2004 December 17, the fisheye CONCAM perched on top of an active volcano in Haleakala, Hawaii, saw something moving across the night sky that remains mysterious. The NSL team might have disregarded the above streak as unconfirmed, but the Mauna Kea CONCAM on the next Hawaiian island recorded the same thing. The NSL team might then have disregarded the streak as a satellite, but no record of it was found in the heavens-above.com site that usually documents bright satellite events. If you think you have a reasonable explanation for the streak, please contribute to the on-line discussion. Current candidates include a known satellite that was somehow missed by heavens-above, a recently launched rocket, and a passing space rock. Volunteers are solicited by the NSL project to help monitor the operability of each NSL CONCAM, including looking for interesting anomalies such as this. AMMAN – Snow showers, heavy rain and high winds gripped the Holy Land and Middle East countries on Tuesday, paralysing life in some areas but also bringing welcome relief to drought-hit regions.

BANDA ACEH, Indonesia — A strong earthquake struck Indonesia’s tsunami-ravaged Aceh province Wednesday, shaking buildings as terrified residents fled for higher ground in cars and on foot while police shouted “Tsunami! Tsunami!”
Entire families jumped aboard nearby scooters and passing vehicles and sped off, snarling traffic on the main two-lane thoroughfare. Some headed to mosques, whose sturdy foundations and upper floors offered protection from the killer waves in the Dec. 26 disaster. Women screamed and sobbed.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.

Earth Gets a Warm Feeling All Over
NASA — Last year was the fourth warmest year on average for our planet since the late 1800s, according to NASA scientists.
To determine if the Earth is warming or cooling, scientists look at average temperatures. To get an “average” temperature, scientists take the warmest and the coolest temperatures in a day, and calculate the temperature that is exactly in the middle of those high and low values. This provides an average temperature for a day. These average temperatures are then calculated for spots all over the Earth, over an entire year.

Central U.S. Warned of Larger Earthquakes to Come
A moderate earthquake that rattled parts of Arkansas and Tennessee Thursday should serve as a wake-up call to the central United States about the potential for much stronger events, experts said.
The temblor, preliminarily put at magnitude 4.1, shook eastern Arkansas and western Tennessee early in the morning. It was centered 47 miles north-northwest of Memphis.
There were no reports of significant damage.
“Although today’s earthquake was what we characterize as ‘light,’ this area is capable of producing an earthquake that can result in significant loss of life and property damage,” said Charles “Chip” Groat, director of the U.S. Geological Survey.
Quake Death Toll in 2004 Could Be Worst Since 1556
A final analysis of the Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami is likely to create a death toll in 2004 greater than any caused by ground shaking in more than four centuries.
While the total deaths from the Dec. 26, 2004 disaster remains uncertain, it stands at 275,950, according to a U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) statement released Thursday. A comparatively small number of other earthquake-related fatalities for the year brings the total to 276,856, the agency reported.
