Swine flu's ancient correlation to the 1st of May
Though "9/11" is a nationally recognized distress number, "Mayday" is an internationally recognized distress signal.
It derives from the French venez m’aider , meaning ‘come help me ‘. The Mayday call sign was originated in 1923 by Frederick Stanley Mockford (1897–1962)
The call is always given three times in a row ("Mayday Mayday Mayday ") to prevent mistaking it for some similar-sounding phrase under noisy conditions, and to distinguish an actual mayday call from a message about a mayday call.
Examples of "grave and imminent danger" in which a mayday call would be appropriate include fire, explosion or sinking. Boats getting lost or boats running out of fuel is not considered grave and imminent danger.

The month of may, the 5th on our calendar is named after the Roman goddess Maia Maiestas, "Maia the Majestic", Alternate names: Maiesta, Maja, Majestas, Majesty. (origin of the word MAGIC) which is essentially a doubling of Her name to indicate Her power, as both "Maia" and "Maiestas" have their roots in latin magnus, "great or powerful". She was honored by the Romans on the 1st and 15th of May, and at the Volcanalia of August 23rd, the holiday of Her sometimes husband, the Fire-God Vulcan. She was also associated with Ops,(note: meaning "eye" in Greek) the Earth-Goddess who symbolizes the wealth of the Earth.

In ancient Rome, the flamen Volcanalis, the priest who officially oversaw the rites of Vulcan, sacrificed a pregnant sow to Maia on the first day of May. The offering of a pregnant sow was traditionally given to Earth-goddesses such as Tellus or Ceres and signified both the remarkable fecundity of the Earth (as there are usually between 6 and 12 piglings in a litter) as well as the darker side of the Earth Mother, as sows have been known to eat their young. In ancient Greece, a sow was an appropriate sacrifice to Demeter and had been her favorite animal since she had been the Great Goddess of archaic times. Initiates at the Eleusinian Mysteries began by sacrificing a pig. In ancient Egypt pigs were associated with Set, the rival to the sun god Horus. Osiris had also associations with swine, and the Egyptians, according to Herodotus, sacrificed a pig to him annually. When Set at full moon hunted the boar in the Delta marshes, he probably hunted the boar form of Osiris, whose human body had been recovered from the sacred tree by Isis. Set, the demon slayer of the harvest god, had also a boar form; he was the black pig who devoured the waning moon and blinded the Eye of Ra.
With the occult history of association of the pig with the war between Set and Osiris, light and darkness, heaven and earth it is significant that the pig was a central feature of Daniel's prophecy of the "abomination of desolation".
It is known that the The Seleucid King Antiochus IV is recognized as the chief prototype or forerunner of the Antichrist and labeled his coins Antiochus Theos Epiphanes - "The God Made Manifest".
The historian Flavius Josephus recorded that Antiochus' reign of terror over Israel lasted for 3 years.

The "Abomination of Desolation" prophecy of Daniel was mentioned by Jesus in Matthew 24:15 and Mark 13:14 as referring to an event in the end time when a 7 year peace treaty will be signed between Israel and a world ruler called "the man of lawlessness", or the "Antichrist" affirmed by the writings of the Apostle Paul in 2 Thessalonians.
The Daniel 9:27 passage says, " in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate." " In other words, the future prince will do at that time exactly what Antiochus did in the second century b.c."
In both Biblical and rabbinical Hebrew the abomination is a familiar term for an idol and therefore may well have the same application in Daniel, which should accordingly be rendered, in agreement with Ezra, ix. 3, 4, "motionless abomination" or, also, "appalling abomination." The suggestion of many scholars-Hoffmann, Nestle, Bevan, and others—that, as a designation for Jupiter is simply an intentional perversion of his usual appellation "Baal Shamem" ("lord of heaven"), is quite plausible, as is attested by the perversion of Beelzebub into "Βεελζεβούλ" (Greek version) in Mark, iii. 22, as well as the express injunction found in Tosef., 'Ab. Zarah, vi. (vii) and Babli 'Ab. Zarah, 46a, that the names of idols may be pronounced only in a distorted or abbreviated form (see the examples quoted there).

In hindsight, it’s obvious that, for the Illuminati May 1st had significance as the day in which the “cult of fire” was/is celebrated throughout Europe and Britain as Walpurgisnacht and Beltane. I don’t think it is accident that they chose the date. I also don’t think it is accident for May Day to have become a sacred revolutionary holiday for socialists, communists and anarchists. The Illuminati were the forebears of these, and acknowledged as such by the likes of Louis Blanc, Buonarroti and his secret societies (the Sublimes Maîtres Parfaits, Adelphi and Philadelphes), Speshnev and the Petrashevsky circle, and no doubt the Spartacist League as well.
Beside the territory already covered in my previous article, there’s another incident that occurred on May 1st that may represent an homage to the Illuminati (well before the Chicago Haymarket anarchist riot in 1886).
It is the founding of the first Haute Vente (or Alta Vendita) of the French branch of Carbonari secret society, on May 1st, 1821, by Joubert, Dugied, Bazard, Flotard, Buchez, Carriol, and Limperani.* Bazard and Buchez had also previously formed a revolutionary Loge Des Amis De La Vérité [Lodge of the Friends of Truth] that was connected with Joseph Rey’s Union, had recruited radical students, and whose membership eventually swelled to more than a thousand members. The Carbonari operated through cells of vendite, vendite centrali, and alta vendita. The instructions of the latter controlling body were confiscated (along with some correspondences), first published by M. Cretineau-Joly in French, translated into English by George F. Dillon, and demonstrate the ongoing conspiracy against throne and altar that began with the Illuminati.

CDC: Level 5 flu alert a "good thing" for the New World Order

(NaturalNews) Read just about any news report on swine flu deaths, and you'll come across a line that claims "36,000 people die each year from flu-related causes." It sounds authoritative. It's even a nice, round number. But where is this number coming from? And is it based on any actual science?
This statistic is being paraded around by almost everybody, as if to say that swine flu isn't so bad because regular flu kills so many people each year anyway. The truth is that the only standard by which the CDC and WHO are quoting deaths from swine flu is if they are confirmed deaths from a particular viral strain. To them, if a death has not been confirmed in their labs, it does not count as a death from that flu.
Got that? Only "confirmed" deaths count. And they must be confirmed in a laboratory using a rigorous method of comparing samples taken from the deceased with a known database of viral patterns.
As it turns out, virtually none of the 36,000 people said to die from regular flu each year have been confirmed in any lab whatsoever.
Thus, according to the guidelines of the CDC and WHO, they don't count. Based on their own rules, it is technically accurate to say that regular flu kills virtually no one. It's not true, of course, because people do die from the "regular flu" each year, but it is technically accurate according to the CDC and WHO rules for scientific evidence.
Again, that's because nearly all of these "regular flu" deaths aren't confirmed by a CDC or WHO-recognized lab. Thus, they have no scientific standing.
Infectious disease double standard
I find it interesting that when talking about swine flu, the criteria for inclusion in statistics is positive identification in a rigorous laboratory. But when talking about regular flu, the criteria for inclusion is -- technically speaking -- anybody's wild guess.The 36,000 number, it turns out, was pulled out of thin air. It has no scientific validity whatsoever, even according to the CDC's own standards.
I tracked down the origins of this number on CDC.gov, by the way. Turns out it was an estimate derived by the CDC in 2003 (http://www.cdc. gov/od/oc/ media/pres. ..).
It's an estimate, mind you, not a "confirmed" number of deaths. And that estimate has stayed exactly the same through 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. Not a budge. Before the number was 36,000, it was 20,000 for many years. That tells you right off the bat this isn't some confirmed laboratory number -- it's a guesstimate!
I'm not disagreeing with the number. It's probably a fairly accurate guess (the CDC folks are a smart bunch). But it doesn't meet the criteria by which these infectious disease organizations report influenza deaths.
As the CDC even says on their own website, "This estimate came from a 2003 study published in the Journal of the American Medication Association (JAMA), which looked at the 1990-91 through the 1998-99 flu seasons [10]. Statistical modeling was used to estimate how many flu-related deaths occurred among people whose underlying cause of death on their death certificate was listed as a respiratory or circulatory disease. During these years, the number of estimated deaths ranged from 17,000 to 52,000."
In other words, they took a look at how many people died from respiratory or circulatory disease, and from that they extrapolated "flu-related deaths."
This is all accomplished through "statistical modeling," which is the equivalent of statisticians waving magic wands to create new numbers where none exist. Based on the sample size, it can be quite accurate (plus or minus a few percentage points), or it can be way off base depending on the accuracy of the statistical sample.
Notably, if the same methodology were used to calculate swine flu deaths, it might currently show 300 or more deaths (and such methodologies would be widely criticized, of course, for being "just wild guesses," which they are).
As the CDC admits itself, "CDC does not know exactly how many people die from flu each year."
And... "It has been recognized for many years that influenza is infrequently listed on death certificates [12] and testing for influenza infections usually not done, particularly among the elderly who are at greatest risk of influenza complications and death. Some deaths – particularly in the elderly – are associated with secondary complications of influenza (including bacterial pneumonias). " (http://www.cdc. gov/flu/about/ diseas...)
In other words: Influenza isn't listed on death certificates and influenza testing isn't even done on most patients! Thus, it is not possible for these 36,000 influenza deaths to be confirmed at all.
Swine flu may escape detection, too
What else is interesting in all this is when the CDC explains that viral strains aren't even detectable in patients after the first few days of infection:"Influenza virus infection may not be identified in many instances because influenza virus is only detectable for a short period of time and many people don't seek medical care until after the first few days of acute illness." - The CDC
If this is true, then isn't it also true that most swine flu patients can NEVER be confirmed in a lab?
I find this quite curious, because according to what the CDC is saying here, it is impossible to ever get an accurate "confirmed" count of swine flu patients because the influenza virus isn't detectable after a "short period of time." Thus, by limiting swine flu death reports to only those patients who have been confirmed in a laboratory, the CDC is essentially eliminating the very possibility that many swine flu patients will ever be tested and identified as carrying the strain.
Put another way, the criteria for identifying and reporting swine flu deaths is, itself, limiting the number of swine flu deaths that will ever be counted. Essentially, the system is rigged to under-report swine flu deaths by eliminating anyone who wasn't tested in time to identify the strain.
This, I believe, is why the swine flu death count remains magically low even as doctors on the ground in Mexico City are reporting much larger numbers of real-world swine flu deaths.
Different strains
The other important thing to realize here is that the 36,000 figure is not talking about just one strain of influenza: It's a cumulative figure from ALL the other strains of influenza combined!"Regular flu," you see, isn't just one flu. It's a collection of potentially hundreds of different flu strains. So assigning the 36,000 deaths a year figure to "regular flu" is misleading because it makes it sound like a single strain of influenza.
The truth is that nobody really knows how many deaths each year occur from the different strains of flu circulating in the wild. Some top-notch CDC officials can probably take a pretty good guess at it, but it's still just that: A guess. The real numbers are, frankly, unknown.
It's also unknown how many people die from the viral load vs. how many die from secondary infections (such as bacterial pneumonia) that often follow viral infections. Technically, a lot of those 36,000 people (or so) might have been killed by various strains of common bacteria, not by the viruses.
Yesterday morning, Mexico was reporting 159 deaths from swine flu. According to the WHO, that number is not only 7. How does 159 magically become 7? By including the word "confirmed" in front of it.
Fine. Let's all go with the "confirmed" modifier. All infectious disease deaths must now be confirmed in a CDC or WHO laboratory in order to count. So that means the 36,000 number needs to be revised down to however many have been "confirmed" in that group.
And how many is that? Only the CDC knows. I'm guessing it's a two-digit number.
So much for the myth of "36,000 flu-related deaths a year." If you believe that number, I'm sure there's a job waiting for you at the U.S. Treasury Dept., too, where numbers are materialized out of thin air on a daily basis in order to finance
the national debt.

Despite the fact that swine flu has claimed just one victim all week, a kill rate multiple times lower than the common flu, governments of the world are acting as if armageddon is right around the corner.
The World Health Organization calls a virus that has killed a confirmed 12 people in over a week a “threat to humanity” while talk of martial law, mandatory vaccinations and forced quarantines runs rampant.
Much of the hysteria is being fueled by people inundating hospitals and doctor’s offices who have mundane illnesses like the common cold, but who just want to “make sure” they don’t have swine flu. Such cases are immediately treated as “suspected swine flu cases” by the media and the panic spreads faster than the actual virus, which according to Mexican health officials is now clearly slowing down.
However, while media headlines and government advisors scream about a potential pandemic and hundreds of thousands of fatalities, an anonymous GP writing for the London Guardian today explains that calls from people worried they have swine flu have tailed off, while people with flu symptoms are almost non-existent.
“Yesterday we had two such calls: a patient just returned from Turkey who had diarrhoea and wondered if it could be flu, and an elderly lady wanting advice about her husband who has respiratory problems. Should he be started on Tamiflu? Simple answer: No,” he writes.
“Today, so far, there have been no calls at all. We have 15,000 patients and are close to one of the larger airports in England, but have not seen a case of flu. We have not had a single patient worrying that he or she might have flu. It feels like a phoney war. We have seen two patients with heart attacks, three acute asthmatic attacks, and a child who had swallowed an implausibly large piece of Lego. Such is general practice.”
However, on the flip side we’ve received reports that the virus is spreading far worse than officially recognized. As we reported yesterday, a doctor in Texas claims that the crisis is at least 10 times worse than reported and that a level 6 pandemic is already in effect.
We can draw the same conclusion that we proposed nearly a week ago just after all this started. Either the spread and severity of the disease is far worse than has been reported or, if the official fatality figures of just 12 confirmed deaths is accurate, governments are engaged in a mammoth fearmongering campaign in order to beta-test the martial law procedures that they eventually plan to institute. Suspension of constitutional rights and the implementation of martial law is already being discussed as a possible response to something that has not claimed a single life of a U.S. citizen.
In addition, pharmaceutical companies with deep ties to the establishment are making obscene profits while governments are cashing in on huge stocks of Tamiflu purchased four years ago to fight a bird flu pandemic that never came, before the drugs pass their expiry date and are useless.
Governments are parroting the line that they are “well prepared” to fight swine flu because of the billions of dollars spent on preparing for the threat of avian flu in 2005 and 2006. The U.S. and UK governments bought a combined 34.6 million doses of Tamiflu alone in October 2005, costing billions of dollars. The shelf life on those doses is quickly running out. Along comes a swine flu scare just at the right time to allow them to shift millions of batches of stock that would otherwise be heading for the landfill.
If the official figures of hundreds infected and just 12 dead are accurate more than a week after the outbreak of the virus, it seems that our first hunch has been proven true. The swine flu story is merely a repeat of the cynical and agenda-driven scare of 1976, when more people ended up dying as a result of taking the vaccine than from the actual virus itself.
As Simon Jenkins discusses, we’ve seen it all too often before. During the BSE scare in Britain in the mid-nineties, we were told that the disease had “the potential to infect up to 10 million Britons”. The damage done by the disease was virtually none yet the meat industry was savaged and British farming was all but destroyed.
Likewise, in 2003 Dr Patrick Dixon, formerly of the London Business School, created a furore when he stated the SARS virus had “a 25% chance of killing tens of millions”. The virus killed 774 between November 2002 and July 2003 and there hasn’t been a single infection in the six years since.
A fatality figure in the millions was again hyped during the avian flu scare of 2005-2006, another doomsday scenario that never happened.
Compared to the lethality of swine flu, these diseases had a far greater impact, and yet none of them even came close to living up to the same “end-is-nigh” proclamations made by health authorities that we are again hearing today.
From the people who brought us key Pentagon documents on Strategic Information Warfare (SIW) and advisories on igniting wars with China and other ’super regions’, now comes a document published in late March of 2009 named the ‘Initial Evaluation of the Cities Readiness Initiative’. Published just a month before the recent swine flu outbreak in Mexico, the document arrives just in time to deal with the response and readiness of cities in case of a bio-terrorist attack or, as now applies, a naturally occurring disease outbreak.

In the study that the RAND-corporation did at the request of the Centres for Disease Control (CDC) on the existing Cities Readiness Initiative, the infamous globalist think- tank provided a favourable review of the existing program but added a few improvements of its own. Besides several mentions of emergency response in regards to disease outbreaks- amongst which a disturbing mention of mass vaccination plans- the main thread of the piece points to an increased central planning of actions as opposed to a decentralised response coordination. The tone is set at the very start of the ‘technical report’, where the authors explain:
‘Over the past decade, concern about the threat of bio-terrorism, pandemics, and other large-scale natural disasters has spurred large federal investments in state and local response capabilities.’
‘Since 2004′, the report continues, ‘CRI (Cities Readiness Initiative) has expended some $300 million to improve the ability of the nation’s largest metropolitan regions to provide life-saving medications in the event of a large-scale bio-terrorist attack or naturally occurring disease outbreak. Administered by the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC’s) Division of Strategic National Stockpile (DSNS), CRI seeks to help awardees respond to a large-scale anthrax attack or other large-scale public health emergency by providing antibiotics and other life-saving medical supplies to 100 percent of a planning jurisdiction’ s population within a 48-hour time frame. The program currently includes 72 metropolitan regions and covers an estimated 57 percent of the of the U.S. population.’
Related to the extend of the CDC’s jurisdiction in times of such an emergency is the Division of Strategic National Stockpile (DSNS), that acts as a medical reserve in case local and state medical resources become exhausted. Lisa Schnirring, a staff writer for the Center for Infectious Disease Research & Policy, sums up the most prominent findings by RAND’s researchers:
‘The program’s focus on a single scenario- an aerosol anthrax attack- along with specific targets has helped recipients prioritize their resources and reach out to vital partners, the authors reported. However, they found that areas with decentralized public health systems had a harder time forging relationships with other first responders, often because of the sheer number of jurisdictions.’
RAND therefore advises more central planning in regards to emergency response. Bio- terror attacks and disease outbreak are mentioned in the same breath so as to bring out a common and federal response for both later on. In a so-called ‘working paper’ issued by the RAND corporation prepared for the U.S. Department of Health in 2007, several drills are being proposed where different departments (CDC/DSNS and others) can practise and streamline their efforts. Under the headline ‘Embedding Drills in Routine and Small- Scale Events Might Increase Relevance’, the report mentions some earlier situations in which real events were combined with emergency response drills: (page 11):
‘Several jurisdictions are already using non-routine practises or small-scale emergencies to test large-scale response capabilities. For example, several jurisdictions used the influenza vaccine shortfall of 2004 as an opportunity to test the public health department’s incident command structure during an effort to mass vaccinate a large number of individuals in a single day (Seid. et al., 2006). Other jurisdictions have used annual flu clinics to test mass dispensing procedures for the SNS-program, which alleviates some of the costs associated with recruiting volunteers to act as test patients.’
In the same RAND- working paper, the authors conclude that an adequate mass counter- measure response is far from perfected and that further drills may be necessary in order to improve on the details (page 49):
‘While there is strong evidence that CRI (Cities Readiness Initiative) has improved planning for mass countermeasure dispensing, we were unable to assess jurisdictions’ ability to implement their mass dispensing plans in emergency conditions. Given the rarity of large-scale public health emergencies, demonstrations of these operational capabilities must come largely through exercises.’
The RAND people advise more frequently held exercises by lack of real emergencies, to test the ability for mass dispensing plans (read: mass vaccination efforts). As we learned under the report’s ‘Embedding Drills in Routine and Small-Scale Events Might Increase Relevance’, real events can be used to test and further improve their effectiveness.
Although a large-scale exercise might be difficult to achieve in the western world, such exercises are far easier to do in developing countries- where there is more open and widespread corruption and less constitutional boundaries holding you back. In March of 2007 the Rockefeller Foundation provided financial support through their ‘Disease Surveillance Networks Initiative’ to the RAND corporation ‘to conduct pandemic simulation exercises, both at a country-level as well as across the region.’, reports the Rockefeller Foundation’s website. On March 14 2007 the Foundation released a document called ‘Southeast Asian Nations Conduct Joint Exercise in Cambodia to Improve Flu Pandemic Response’. In this document, the infrastructure of the operation is explained:
‘Using techniques similar to those in modern war-gaming, the tabletop exercise was designed to foster cooperation among countries in the Mekong Basin Disease Surveillance Network (MBDS), the region seen as the most likely source of a potentially devastating flu pandemic such as avian flu. The exercise also helped identify gaps and weaknesses in systems for detecting, monitoring, tracking and containing the deadly disease. Senior Officials from the governments of Cambodia, China, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand- including officials from the ministries of health, foreign affairs, agriculture, tourism and security as well as representatives from the UN, UNICEF, UNSIC, UNOCHA and a regional institute– participated today and yesterday in the exercise, which they designed and ran in collaboration with health specialists from the RAND corporation. The event was sponsored by the Nuclear Threat Initiative’s Global Health and Security Initiative, with additional funding from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Rockefeller Foundation. The exercise is a component of the MBDS, which was developed with support from the Rockefeller Foundation.’
As we have learned from the tragic events of 911, real threats and emergency response drills are not mutually exclusive as one cloaks the other. More often than not the edges are blurred, so it is impossible to say where the real event ends and the exercise begins and vice versa. This is the true curtain of fog behind which the globalists operate. As all of the different divisions are compartmentalised to focus on their small part within the great infrastructure, only the people at the very top have the entire map laid down in front of them on which they move the chess pieces around according to their designs. In light of the recent swine flu outbreak, we’re obviously experiencing a huge psyop drill to both assess the current status of centrally planned coordination of countermeasures (such as mass vaccinations) and acclimate the general public to such central coordinated actions in case of emergencies, whether real or feigned. But there is a third reason for such a psyop- and it fits in perfectly with the global agenda being pushed by the very same institutions that fostered the economic crisis, and are now crying for world government.
Almost six months after the mass exercise in Southeast Asia, the Foundation published another document called The Global Challenge of Health Systems. It is a summary of Pocantico II- a meeting held under auspices of the Rockefeller Foundation with high- ranking attendees including the Deputy Secretary General of the UN, Dr. Asha-Rose Migiro. In the preface of the publication, the Foundation’s managing director Ariel Pablos-Mendez explains that all attendees are in agreement when it comes to global response and coordination needed for future ‘emergencies’:
‘The participants agreed that the (Rockefeller) Foundation should support efforts to rethink the overall global architecture of health institutions.’
Later on in the report (page 5), the authors elaborate on these ‘efforts’ and recent steps taken to ensure that all heads are pointed in the same direction:
‘Recently a number of initiatives have been launched to help strengthen health systems, including those by Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and a network of ministers of Foreign Affairs. The Rockefeller Foundation itself is supporting a joint initiative of the United Nations and the Council on Foreign Relations to rethink the architecture of international health institutions.’
To assist in this process of ‘rethinking’ this global architecture in regards to global pandemic outbreaks, the report mentions that:
‘…The group agreed there would continue to be the rising threat of global pandemics. While new diseases may be emerging at roughly the same rate as before, the trends of globalisation speed their spread and thus increase the threat of new pandemics. Globalisation trends make it essential for health systems to improve surveillance and develop appropriate rapid response approaches.’
Slowly the picture becomes more clear as yet another crisis is generated and more fear is being pumped into society’s bloodstream. As recent developments have showed, the global financial crisis is used as the perfect pretext for world government. A global pandemic outbreak does the same. A global threat gives the power behind the throne the tools it needs to come up with a global response, and another step towards world dictatorship has been taken.

MEXICO CITY — U.S. authorities are pledging to eventually produce enough swine flu vaccine for everyone but say that the shots couldn't begin until fall at the earliest.
Worries about the spread of the virus mounted Thursday as the U.S. swine flu caseload passed 100, and nearly 300 schools closed. Federal officials had to spend much of the day reassuring the public it's still safe to fly and ride public transportation after Vice President Joe Biden said he wouldn't recommend it to his family.
Scientists were racing to prepare the key ingredient to make a vaccine against the never-before- seen flu strain — if it's ultimately needed. But it will take several months before the first pilot lots begin required human testing to make the vaccine is safe and effective. If all goes well, broader production could start in the fall.

"We think 600 million doses is achievable in a six-month time frame" from that fall start, Health and Human Services Assistant Secretary Craig Vanderwagen told lawmakers Thursday.
"I don't want anybody to have false expectations. The science is challenging here," Vanderwagen told reporters. "Production can be done, robust production capacity is there. It's a question of can we get the science worked on the specifics of this vaccine."
Until a vaccine is ready, the government has stockpiled anti-viral medications that can ease flu symptoms or help prevent infection. The medicines are proving effective.
Reassurances from top health officials didn't stop the questions from coming.

An estimated 12,000 people logged onto a Webcast where the government's top emergency officials sought to cut confusion by answering questions straight from the public: Can a factory worker handling parts from Mexico catch the virus? No. Can pets get it? No.
And is washing hands or using those alcohol-based hand gels best? Washing well enough is the real issue, answered Dr. Richard Besser, acting chief of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He keeps hand gel in his pocket for between-washings but also suggested that people sing "Happy Birthday" as they wash their hands to make sure they've washed long enough to get rid of germs.
Although it is safe to fly, anyone with flu-like symptoms shouldn't be traveling anywhere, unless they need to seek medical care.
The swine flu outbreak penetrated over a dozen states and even touched the White House, which disclosed that an aide to Energy Secretary Steven Chu apparently got sick helping arrange President Barack Obama's recent trip to Mexico but that the aide did not fly on Air Force One and never posed a risk to the president.
So far U.S. cases are mostly fairly mild with one death, a Mexican toddler who visited Texas with his family — unlike in Mexico where more than 160 suspected deaths have been reported. Most of the U.S. cases so far haven't needed a doctor's care, officials said.
Still, the U.S. is taking extraordinary precautions — including shipping millions of doses of anti-flu drugs to states in case they're needed. The World Health Organization is warning of an imminent pandemic because scientists cannot predict what a brand-new virus might do. A key concern is whether this spring outbreak will resurge in the fall.
The CDC confirmed 109 cases Thursday, and state officials confirm 22 more. Cases now are confirmed in New York, Texas, California, South Carolina, Kansas, Massachusetts, Indiana, Ohio, Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, Delaware, Maine, Colorado, Georgia and Minnesota.
Where Did Virus Originate?
Medical detectives have not pinpointed where the outbreak began. Scientists believe that somewhere in the world, months or even a year ago, a pig virus jumped to a human and mutated, and has been spreading between humans ever since.
China has gone on a rhetorical offensive to squash any suggestion it's the source of the swine flu after some Mexican officials were quoted in media reports in the past week saying the virus came from Asia and the governor of Mexico's Veracruz state was quoted as saying the virus specifically came from China.
One of the deaths in Mexico directly attributed to swine flu was that of a Bangladeshi immigrant, said Mexico's chief epidemiologist Miguel Angel Lezana.
Lezana said the unnamed Bangladeshi had lived in Mexico for six months and was recently visited by a brother who arrived from Bangladesh or Pakistan and was reportedly ill. The brother has left Mexico and his whereabouts are unknown, Lezana said. He suggested the brother could have brought the virus from Pakistan or Bangladesh.
By March 9, the first symptoms were showing up in the Mexican state of Veracruz, where pig farming is a key industry in mountain hamlets and where small clinics provide the only health care.
The earliest confirmed case was there: a 5-year-old boy who was one of hundreds of people in the town of La Gloria whose flu symptoms left them struggling to breathe.
Neighbors of the inspector, Maria Adela Gutierrez, said Wednesday that she fell ill after pairing up with a temporary worker from Veracruz who seemed to have a very bad cold. Other people from La Gloria kept going to jobs in Mexico City despite their illnesses, and could have infected people in the capital.
Emergency Response
There is no vaccine to prevent infection but U.S. health officials aim to have a key ingredient for one ready in early May, the big step that vaccine manufacturers are awaiting. But even if the World Health Organization ordered up emergency vaccine supplies — and that decision hasn't been made yet — it would take at least two more months to produce the initial shots needed for human safety testing.
"We're working together at 100 miles an hour to get material that will be useful," Dr. Jesse Goodman, who oversees the Food and Drug Administration' s swine flu work, told The Associated Press.
Obama asked Congress for $1.5 billion in emergency funds to help build more drug stockpiles and monitor future cases, as well as help international efforts to avoid a full-fledged pandemic.
Obama said his administration has made sure that needed medical supplies are on hand and he praised the Bush administration for stockpiling 50 million doses of antiviral medications
Swine Flu vs. Seasonal Influenza
“The illness is consistent with seasonal influenza and has generally the same symptoms of seasonal influenza,” Fukuda said. “Our information to date shows that the infection can range from very mild, requiring no hospitalization and recovering after a few days, to fatal, which is also in keeping with seasonal influenza."
Fukuda said there is no evidence that the virus is spreading from pigs or that it is unsafe to eat pork.
Authorities sought to keep the crisis in context: Flu deaths are common around the world. In the U.S. alone, the CDC says about 36,000 people a year die of flu-related causes.
Children, especially those younger than age 5, are particularly vulnerable to flu and its complications, and every year children die from seasonal flu.
According to the CDC, more than 20,000 children younger than age 5 are hospitalized every year because of seasonal flu. In the 2007-08 flu season, the CDC received reports that 86 children nationwide died from flu complications.
As of April 11, CDC had received reports of 53 seasonal flu-related deaths in children during the current seasonal flu season.
Still, the CDC calls the new strain a combination of pig, bird and human viruses for which people may have limited natural immunity.
Hence the need for a vaccine.
It is impossible to stop the virus spreading virus to Croatia. An immunology scientist confirmed it is possible for a virus to escape a lab.
The new swine flu virus, which is a combination of viruses typical for pigs, birds and people, began spreading at an unstoppable speed. The virus killed at least 149 people in Mexico, it has spread to the United States and Canada and it has been confirmed that it has now spread to Europe and Asia.
Swine Flu Created in Lab as Bio-Weapon?
As the virus is spreading, the media have began speculating that it had been created in a laboratory as a biological weapon. A UN scientist is convinced that the swine flu virus, A-H1N1, and Ebola and HIV viruses were in fact manufactured biological weapons. A month ago, the Austrian subsidiary of the American pharmaceutical company Baxter “accidentally” sent a bird flu virus to laboratories in neighbouring countries, which proves that a virus can in fact “escape” from a lab. Keeping this in mind, it is completely logical that very few people will believe that vials containing the swine flu virus accidentally exploded in a passenger train in Switzerland during which one person was injured. But scientists claim that that type of virus is not hazardous to humans.
We turned to Dr. Sc. Renata Mazuran from the Croatian Institute of Immunology for an expert opinion. She confirmed for Javno that it is indeed possible for a virus to “escape” from a laboratory and that it could have fatal consequences.
It is impossible that a virus circulates among the population unchanged for 27 years
- A wild virus or a flu virus created by genetic engineering can “escape” from a laboratory. Possible the most serious such incident happened in 1918 when the H1N1 virus, which caused an epidemic, escaped. That virus strain disappeared from the population after a pandemic in 1957. However, in 1977, a H1 virus, identical to the one that had been isolated in 1950, suddenly reappeared, causing a milder epidemic. It is almost completely impossible for a virus to circulate among the population unchanged for 27 years. This means that it “escaped” from laboratory freezers and a lab worker could have been infected. Another way of a virus escaping is a vaccine that was insufficiently attenuated – Mazuran explained. She stressed that there are clear regulations for storage and work with infectious materials.
Mazuran also confirmed that a virus, such as this swine flu, which is a combination of three types of viruses, can be produced in a laboratory.
- But this does not exclude the natural course of development of the virus – she warned.
Who Will Profit from the Deadly Flu This Time?
It should be stressed that after the occurrence of the virus, the shares of pharmaceutical companies went up. One of them is America’s Baxter, which confirmed that it was working on producing a vaccine. On the other hand, Mexican tourism is falling apart and the shares of air carrier companies, tourist agencies, hotels and so on have plummeted.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) raised the emergency threat of a possible pandemic level to 4, which indicates that the virus is easily spread among humans and that it can cause seats that infect entire communities.
Dr. Mazuran explained that it is characteristic of RNA viruses, such as the swine flu, to mutate quickly and that it is not unusual for them to be transmitted among humans.
- We do not know how long this virus has been circulating among the population. The epidemic in Mexico allegedly started in early March – Mazuran said.
It is interesting that the only deaths from the swine flu were registered only in Mexico, while those infected in other countries are recovering well.
- No virus threatens just one race, but it is a fact that certain races are more susceptible to certain viral infections than others – Mazuran explained and added that overpopulation, living standards and hygiene are important factors.
She especially warned that the exact number of infected people must be confirmed by a lab test. The existing lab test is not specific, which is why a new, more specific test is being developed, she said.
Asked if the spreading of the virus could be stopped before it reaches Croatia, Mazuran said no.
In the end she stressed that it takes about eight months to produce a vaccine against the flu and its distribution on the market.
Mexico is preparing to shut down parts of its economy for five days to slow the spread of swine flu. So far 12 deaths in the country have been officially attributed to the virus.
One person has died in Texas, which is the only death outside Mexico so far. A state of Public Health emergency has been declared in the US. Across the world at least thirteen countries including Israel and Spain have confirmed cases of the infection.
A ‘pilot vaccine’ is being developed under the supervision of the EU. However, some conspiracy theories that are spreading just as fast as the virus have already dismissed the hysteria over the virus as a malevolent plot orchestrated by pharmaceutical companies in order to cash in on people’s fear. One in particular believes that the strain has been purposely engineered so companies producing vaccines can cash in.
In New York City many dismiss the media hysteria but are not as quick to debunk theories for the outbreak. People on Manhattan’s streets have shown their skepticism over the vaccination:
“That’s the whole medical industry. I don’t get the flu shot, ‘cause it seems whenever I get the flu shot I get sick. If I don’t get the flu shot, I don’t get the flu. Are there swine in New York City? Sure – the politicians,” says a New York resident.
According to Alex Jones’s web site www.infowars. net , US pharmaceutical company Baxter is working on a potential vaccine.
Back in December, Baxter reportedly distributed vaccines to 18 countries contaminated with the deadly avian flu virus. The discovery came after the vaccine tested on ferrets in the Czech Republic killed the animals. New Yorkers suggest Baxter’s current actions could be masking a shady deal. They think that because the competition on the market is so great, some people will find any way to make a quick buck.
Face masks, for example, are completely sold out at all drug stores in New York City, but RT walked the streets of Manhattan for hours and did not see one person wearing these so-called ‘pandemic protectors’. Instead, amid the swine flu outbreak, people are socializing and lunching in parks.
The Big Apple may have the most cases of the H1N1 strain in the US, but New Yorkers say the media is more panicked than the people. Hamilton Nolan from gossip website Gawker compares the current frenzy with 1976, when the US experienced its first swine flu panic and President Ford made inoculations mandatory.
“The cure ended up being worse than the actual pandemic. It was the same thing. Swine flu appeared, people got scared. They demanded action by the government. The US government spent $135 million on vaccines and people ended up getting sick by the vaccines,” Nolan says.
Dozens who were vaccinated fell ill and were later paralyzed or died. Presently only one US swine flu death has occurred.
More media hysteria ignited in two parts on Thursday, April 30, when America’s third largest automaker filed for bankruptcy protection, followed by a verbal blunder by US Vice President Joe Biden:
“I wouldn’t go anywhere in confined places now. It’s not that going into Mexico. It’s that you are in a confined aircraft where someone sneezes and it goes all the way through the aircraft. That’s just me. I would not be at this point, if they had another means of transportation, suggesting they ride the subway,” said Joe Biden.
The economy is sinking. Chrysler just declared bankruptcy and the US Vice President went on national television urging Americans to avoid confined public spaces like the subway system. So imagine if millions were to actually listen to his suggestion and seek out other forms of transportation. Some may ask – could this possibly give just a little boost to the countries dying auto industry?
The White House issued a statement backpedaling Joe Biden’s statement, saying the flying is safe but urging Americans to avoid unnecessary travel to Mexico. The World Health Organization in its turn says prepare for the worst. US officials say ‘be concerned, but not alarmed.’
At the very least, the general consensus from everyone is: stay home if sick, wash hands often and cover those coughs and sneezes.

It’s a powerful word. Based on an old Italian (Venetian) word quarantena, it literally means ‘group of forty’. So, the word today can mean isolating someone or something for a period of 40 days. Sort of Biblical, isn’t it? Generally, quarantines are used to protect healthy people, plants, animals, from those who are sick. Hospitals use ‘isolation’ as a means to protect uninfected patients and staff from contracting highly communicable diseases–and in reverse, isolation protects patients with compromised immune systems (such as burn victims or transplant recipients) from disease carried in by visitors.

‘Plan Mexico’ is supposed to be about the USA helping Mexico to stamp out narcotics.

Former DEA Agent Celerino Castillo III testified that the CIA and the Nicaraguan Contras were smuggling cocaine from Ilopango Air Force Base in El Salvador. But should we be worried about Swine Flu?
In the UK, the ’spooky’ Sir Roy Anderson, a British ‘expert’ on epidemiology, has told the BBC that Swine Flu is a real problem.
Anderson left the University of Oxford after a unanimous vote of no confidence in him by the Department of Zoology.[2]
This also prompted his resignation in May 2000, from the Wellcome Trust where he had been a Trustee (then a Governor) for nearly 10 years.[3]
Roy Anderson was one of the most prominent scientists who advised the UK Government on the handling of the Foot and Mouth control policy in 2001, a policy that culminated in the destruction of around six million UK cattle.
He was Chief Scientific Adviser to the UK Ministry of Defence from October 2004 to September 2007.

Today, so far, there have been no calls at all. We have 15,000 patients and are close to one of the larger airports in England, but have not seen a case of flu. We have not had a single patient worrying that he or she might have flu. It feels like a phoney war. We have seen two patients with heart attacks, three acute asthmatic attacks, and a child who had swallowed an implausibly large piece of Lego. Such is general practice.
We met at lunchtime, not to talk of heart attacks and Lego, but of flu. There have been deaths in Mexico. There has been one in the US. Our Indian partner said: “There were 2,000 deaths, mainly children in Africa and Asia, yesterday.”
Our medical student looked shocked: “I didn’t know swine flu had reached that part of the world.” “It hasn’t,” said our partner. “I’m talking of deaths from malaria. But that isn’t news, is it?”

AUSTRALIANS have been advised to stockpile food and water after the World Health Organisation raised its swine flu alert to phase five yesterday, indicating an imminent pandemic.

Thermal scanners have been deployed to Australia's international airports as the swine flu continues to spread.
The Federal Government's pandemic plan, a 132-page manual issued to medics, media and the public, insists that once the world reaches phase five, Australians should stock their pantries with food and bottled water to last 14 days, check on elderly neighbours and put emergency numbers by the phone.

But yesterday a spokesman for the Department of Health and Ageing called for calm, saying the Government did not want to spark panic buying - ignoring its own plan, already issued to hospitals across the nation.
"I agree that is it confusing," the spokesman said, admitting he had not read the pandemic plan despite being employed to answer questions about it from national media. "The manual may say people should be preparing but we don't want a run at the shops," he said.
WHO's updated alert, one step short of a full pandemic, was announced yesterday after a toddler in the US became the first to die of the disease outside Mexico.
Thermal scanners, used to detect travellers with elevated body temperatures, were turned on last night at Australia's eight international airports. Travellers with fevers were referred to doctors and made to submit to nose and throat swabs. From tonight all travellers entering the country will have to fill out health declaration cards, giving their contact details so they can be traced if swine flu is later detected among fellow passengers.
No cases have been confirmed in Australia yet, but 40 million masks have been stockpiled for delivery to hospitals and medical centres. Mortuaries and clinical waste management services have been ordered to prepare for increased activity.
The manual says health workers will be given extra gowns, gloves and anti-viral medications and front-line staff will be trained to deal with people who are frightened or panicked by the impending pandemic. If Australian cases are confirmed, elective surgery might be cancelled and some hospitals might be used exclusively for flu victims.
Residents are advised to stock their pantries with drinks, including three litres of water for each person each day, dried and long-life food such as canned meals, toilet paper, batteries, candles, matches, manual can openers and water sterilising tablets. Analgesics, masks, gloves, a thermometer, disinfectant and prescription medications should also be stockpiled and people should have enough supplies to stay in their homes for 14 days.
Householders should also have plenty of tissues, alcohol-based hand-wash dispensers in kitchens and bathrooms, and soap and disposable towels near all sinks, the manual says.
The NSW chief medical officer, Kerry Chant, warned people not to panic. "We're at a stage where we don't have any confirmed cases of influenza in the country and we're also in a stage where we're trying to understand how severe this disease is," she said yesterday.
Australia's chief medical officer, Jim Bishop, said people should be vigilant but not alarmed. Tests being carried out on 114 Australians, including 51 in NSW, were precautionary, he said. "They're not people we think have swine flu."
Late yesterday, the WHO reported 151 confirmed cases in 12 countries. Up to 118 people in 16 countries are also suspected of having the disease.
The management plan predicts that if this pandemic is as severe as that of 1918, 2.1 million people could be affected, 25,000 could die and up to 50 per cent of the workforce could be off sick.

The Global Elite: Who Are They? Bush-Era US Torture System: The Nuremberg Truth And Reconciliation Commission? Representatives John Conyers and Jerrold Nadler are officially asking Attorney General Eric Holder to appoint an independent Special Prosecutor “to investigate and, where appropriate, prosecute” participants in the Bush-era US torture system. “A Special Counsel is the most appropriate way to handle this matter,” Nadler said. “It would remove from the process any question that the investigation was subject to political pressure, and it would preempt any perceptions of conflict of interest within the Justice Department, which produced the torture memos.” But, as Politico reports, “Holder is likely to reject that request – his boss, the president, has indicated he doesn’t see the need for such a prosecutor.” The Democratic Leadership, particularly Obama, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Sen. Diane Feinstein have pushed for secret, closed-door hearings in the Senate Intelligence Committee. Other Democrats, like Patrick Leahy, advocate establishing a Truth Commission, though that is not gaining any momentum. The fact remains that some powerful Democrats knew that the torture was happening and didn’t make a public peep in opposition.

WHATEVER there may be of beauty in the material world, Jesus Christ possesses all that in the spiritual world in a tenfold degree. Amongst flowers the rose is deemed the sweetest, but Jesus is infinitely more beautiful in the garden of the soul than the rose can in the gardens of earth. He takes the first place as the fairest among ten thousand. He is the sun, and all others are the stars; the heavens and the day are dark in comparison with Him, for the King in His beauty transcends all. "I am the rose of Sharon." This was the best and rarest of roses. Jesus is not "the rose" alone, He is "the rose of Sharon," just as He calls His righteousness "gold," and then adds, "the gold of Ophir"—the best of the best. He is positively lovely, and superlatively the loveliest. There is variety in His charms. The rose is delightful to the eye, and its scent is pleasant and refreshing; so each of the senses of the soul, whether it be the taste or feeling, the hearing, the sight, or the spiritual smell, finds appropriate gratification in Jesus. Even the recollection of His love is sweet. Take the rose of Sharon, and pull it leaf from leaf, and lay by the leaves in the jar of memory, and you shall find each leaf fragrant long afterwards, filling the house with perfume. Christ satisfies the highest taste of the most educated spirit to the very full. The greatest amateur in perfumes is quite satisfied with the rose: and when the soul has arrived at her highest pitch of true taste, she shall still be content with Christ, nay, she shall be the better able to appreciate Him. Heaven itself possesses nothing which excels the rose of Sharon. What emblem can fully set forth His beauty? Human speech and earth-born things fail to tell of Him.
