100ft+ 'Nabau' Snake Reported in Borneo

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

According to legend, the Nabau was a terrifying snake more than 100ft in length and with a dragon's head and seven nostrils.

But now local villagers living along the Baleh river in Borneo believe the mythical creature has returned after this photo of a gigantic snake swimming along the remote waterways has emerged.

The picture, taken by a member of a disaster team monitoring flood regions by helicopter, has sparked a huge debate about whether the photos are genuine or merely the work of photo-editing software.

Even the respected New Straits Times newspaper in Kuala Lumpur has asked readers to make up their own minds about the photos.

Villagers who claim to have seen the snake say they have given it the name of Nabau, after an ancient sea serpent which can transform itself into the shapes of different animals.

People who have studied the photograph of the shape taken from the air have dismissed suggestions that it's a log.

As one writer asked: 'A log can't be that winding, can it?' Others have suggested it's a speedboat, but this has been dismissed because of the twisting wake.

The most common accusation is that the photo has simply been manipulated on a computer, while others complain that the river is a different colour to the real Baleh rover which is a murky brown.

But villagers who insist the snake exists say that photos of the creature being taken in different parts of the river prove it is swimming about.

Earlier this month scientists unearthed the fossil of a killer snake that was longer than a bus, as heavy as a small car and which could swallow an animal the size of a cow.

The 45ft long monster - named Titanoboa - was so big that it lived on a diet of crocodiles and giant turtles, squeezing them to death and devouring them whole.

Weighing an impressive 1.25 tons, it slithered around the tropical forests of South America 60million years ago, just five million years after the last dinosaurs were wiped out.

Partial skeletons of the boa constrictor-like prehistoric killer were found in a Colombian coal mine by an international team of fossil hunters.

Is this Atlantis?

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

THIS exciting discovery on Google Ocean backs up the theories about Atlantis I outlined in my dialogues Timaeus and Critias back in 350BC. Plato's Theory

I described a “dense wall” surrounding the great city, which is just like the rectangular perimeter of the seabed image.

And I told of a complex network of streets and buildings — again similar to the grid in the picture.

I learned about Atlantis from Egyptian priests, whose records of the lost civilisation were scrawled in their ancient temples.

I said it was located in the “real sea”. Some scholars have interpreted this as a reference to the Atlantic. Others think it’s the Mediterranean. But I’m not letting on just yet.

The Return of the Lost Continent of Atlantis

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Atlantis is NOT an island. Atlantis is a continent reserved and it exists today, that continent is the Antarctica, a continent untouched, wondered why? Atlantis continent is the Grand Antarctica and its underneath all the cold that has been purposely placed there to keep from discovery, shamans, magick workers, and psychics are incarnates of the lost civilization of Atlantis and will return stronger than ever once they unite and realize this in the year 2010. a unity will be bided in 2010, this will cause all of them to influence the weather with their skills and will start Global Warming, unbelievably Antarctica’s ice sheet will be destroyed, raising the ocean’s level very high (this will happen early 2011 when the Atlantians unite), the continent will be lifted when a polar shift occurs (which is also influenced by the incarnated Atlantians), in late 2011, this polar shift will shake the earth and cause a lot of lives lost, but the Lost land of Atlantis will be lifted thanks to the polar shift, which is influenced by the Atlantians. A tribal war will take place over after the aftermath in 2012, over the land of Atlantis. At this time the Atlantis empire would of already been established, with no culture lost but needing of some catching up to do. What happens to the land is not known, but the culture is established, and most likely these Atlantians will conquer and create land for themselves, their enemy’s exist currently as the Illuminati, and the Free Masons, who selfishly are holding back ancient Egyptian knowledge. Just as the Atlantians had before, they will still have enemies, this time being mentally the normal selfish human (Illuminati, and Freemasons). The Atlantians exist currently, it’s only delay is unity, once the paranormal experts (Just as the original Atlantians) agree on unity; they’ll form this and return the Atlantian Civilization, where they WILL advance and restore peace. They will be very advance and with maturity will receive special attention from extraterrestrial civilizations, and other super advance civilizations like Planet X inhabitants. 2012 is the return of the Atlantians, a war, world advancement, probably peace, and more extraterrestrial visitations. With they’re already advanced in spiritual knowledge, they will develop super advance algorithms and lead the world, their economy would be so wealthy, materialism wouldn’t need existence. The spirit of the Atlantians never died, forums and other communicational resources are there to reconnect this mature advanced civilization.

They will develop a world so advance, golden wealth, purified water, rich agriculture, super spiritual guidance and protection, heaven on earth. They will discover what they had once, anti-gravity tools that would build strong rich temples for homes and families. Courts wouldn’t be necessary, greed wouldn’t exist, with extreme focus they will develop human telepathy, so divine and worthwhile, they will lead the world and nobody would be able to stop them. They will get special attention from precious Gods of the universe. Special talismans and powers, it will be the ultimate divinity the world has ever seen. Age wouldn’t be of a concern, they would have natural remedies, with bulletproof mentality it would naturally increase age in heart. Would the world currently sees as rich would be ordinary to their world, entrepreneurs selling talismans and stones, and breed, nobody would be uneducated. The world would advance in spiritualism. Adultery wouldn’t be possible, as talismans would restore sexual heeding within a marriage, brides would be stress-free and beautiful, oh would a beautiful paradise it would be, 2012.

2012 Science or Superstition

December 21, 2012: the end date of the sophisticated Long Count Calendar created by the ancient Maya in Central America. Countless books and websites, magazine articles and newspaper headlines debate its meaning, with enthusiasts in two camps: those forecasting apocalypse–the end of time–and those who see a coming renewal, a rebirth of consciousness. Adding fuel to the debate, some scientists see the increasing number of natural disasters in recent years as evidence of a catastrophic climax of events in 2012.

How much of what we're hearing is science and how much is superstition? In this film the leading researchers, writers and scientists in the field tell us exactly what this date means to them, why it's important, and what we should expect. Featured in the film are Graham Hancock, John Major Jenkins, Daniel Pinchbeck, Alberto Villoldo, Anthony Aveni, Robert Bauval, Jim Marrs, Walter Cruttenden, Lawrence E. Joseph, Alonso Mendez, Douglas Rushkoff, John Anthony West and Benito Vegas Duran

An odd, greenish backward-flying comet is zipping by Earth this month, as it takes its only trip toward the sun from the farthest edges of the solar system. The comet is called Lulin, and there's a chance it can be seen with the naked eye — far from city lights, astronomers say. But you'll most likely need a telescope, or at least binoculars, to spot it. The best opportunity is just before dawn one-third of the way up the southern sky. It should be near Saturn and two bright stars, Spica and Regula. On Monday at 10:43 p.m. EST, it will be 38 million miles from Earth, the closest it will ever get, according to Donald Yeomans, manager of NASA's Near Earth Object program. The story behind the comet is more intriguing than its appearance — the greenish tinge may be hard for many to discern. The color comes from a type of carbon and cyanogen, a poisonous gas. Lulin was discovered by a Chinese teenager two years ago. It still has many of its original gases — gases that are usually stripped away as comets near the sun. Unlike most comets viewable from Earth, this one hasn't been this close to the sun before, Yeomans said.
GRAND CENTRAL STATION: On Feb. 17th and 18th, many observers of Comet Lulin saw something unexpected. In addition to the comet, "I kept getting satellite trails in my images," reports John Cordiale of Queensbury, New York. "It was like Grand Central Station. Multiple groupings of satellites traveled through my images for hours." He photographed the activity using a 2.5-inch (65mm) refractor:

"It made me wonder if I was seeing debris from the recent double satellite collision," says Cordiale.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

It certainly looked like flying debris (see this animation from Jesus Pelaez of Padilla de Arriba, Spain). But no, what Cordiale, Pelaez and others saw was actually a band of intact geostationary satellites.

Geostationary satellites orbit Earth twenty-two thousand miles above the equator, always keeping station above a single point on the ground. While geosats are stationary with respect to Earth's surface, they move with respect to the stars. Viewed through the eyepiece of a star-tracking telescope, the stars are motionless while the "stationary" satellites streak through the field of view like so much debris. Strange but true.

From mid-Northern latitudes, geostationary satellites occupy a band of declinations between -5 and -6 degrees. By happenstance, Comet Lulin passed through that band on Feb. 17th and 18th, setting the stage for an unexpected show. "I had never seen anything like it!" says Cordiale.

WE may have a winner. Looks like a grinder tip to me. How it fell through the warehouse roof with such a high temperature is another issue…]

The veil continues to be lifted! I want to provide you with a perfect example of what I mean when I say there's much more going on "behind-the-scenes" of our existence than we imagine. Specifically, we need to realize that our common enemy -- Satan -- is actively trying to condition us to accept his coming, and that those loyal to him (the elites in the halls of power and in great positions of wealth and influence) do what they can to worship, honor, and hasten his appearance in this world. If nothing else, they want to do everything they can to make his rise to power, and the world's acceptance of him, a smooth transition.

Frontiers of Propulsion Science is the first-ever compilation of emerging science relevant to such notions as space drives, warp drives, gravity control, and faster-than-light travel – the kind of breakthroughs that would revolutionize spaceflight and enable human voyages to other star systems. Although these concepts might sound like science fiction, they are appearing in growing numbers in reputable scientific journals.

This is a nascent field where a variety of concepts and issues are being explored in the scientific literature, beginning in about the early 1990s. The collective status is still in step 1 and 2 of the scientific method, with initial observations being made and initial hypotheses being formulated, but a small number of approaches are already at step 4, with experiments underway. This emerging science, combined with the realization that rockets are fundamentally inadequate for interstellar exploration, led NASA to support the Breakthrough Propulsion Physics Project from 1996 through 2002.

Frontiers of Propulsion Science covers that project as well as other related work, so as to provide managers, scientists, engineers, and graduate students with enough starting material that they can comprehend the status of this research and decide if and how to pursue it in more depth themselves.

Five major sections are included in the book: Understanding the Problem lays the groundwork for the technical details to follow; Propulsion Without RocketsFaster-Than-Light Travel starts with a review of the known relativistic limits, followed by the faster-than-light implications from both general relativity and quantum physics; Energy Considerations deals with spacecraft power systems and summarizes the limits of technology discusses space drives and gravity control, both in general terms and with specific examples; based on accrued science; and From This Point Forward offers suggestions for how to manage and conduct research on such visionary topics.

Time travel: explore the secrets of speed, space-time, and wormholes - Feb 15, 2009
It turns out that Han Solo had it right--it's about the speed, baby. Although the Valentine Day's presentation of Somewhere in Time featured going back in time using concentration fueled by love, the reality is that traveling through time could turn into a Bass-o-Matic experience if the science and math aren't right.

Tonight, the National Geographic Channel takes a look at the challenges of time travel. Set against the background of the science of time/space and Einstein's theories about time, "The Fastest" is must-see TV. Airing at 8 p.m. EST, the show examines ideas about how time works in space--and what we'll need in order to change time to travel to distance galaxies.

In space, light and time act differently than here on Earth, and speed is a different concept when time can theoretically be stopped in its tracks.

  • Traveling at 100 miles per hour, it would take 14 weeks to get to the moon, 50 years to get to Mars, and about 3,100 years to reach the outermost planet Neptune

  • The speed of light is 186,000 miles per second, or approximately 670 million miles per hour.

  • No matter how fast you are moving when you observe it, the speed of light will always be 186,000 miles per second.

  • Nothing in the universe travels faster than light.

  • At the speed of light, time stops.

  • Time is relative to the person observing it and time may change depending on how fast the observer is moving.

  • Time passes more slowly for satellites in orbit when compared to time on Earth because those satellites are moving.

  • Satellites used for the Global Positioning System are launched with their clocks running faster so that when they reach orbit they mark time the same as Earth-based clocks.

  • Because time passes more slowly in orbit around Earth, astronauts arrive home a little younger than if they had spent the same amount of time on Earth.

  • If you were to travel near the speed of light for what seems to be 20 years, you would return to Earth thousands of years in the future.

Wow. So, if I go into space and spend enough time, then I can return and be, say, 25 again? Now, that's a great idea for a spa!

NASA And ESA Prioritize Outer Planet Missions
At a meeting in Washington last week, NASA and ESA officials decided to first pursue a mission to study Jupiter and its four largest moons, and plan for another mission to visit Saturn's largest moon, Titan, and Enceladus. The proposed projects are grand endeavours that set the stage for future planetary science research. These outer-planet flagship missions could eventually answer questions about how our Solar System formed and whether habitable conditions exist elsewhere in the Solar System. The missions, called the Europa Jupiter System Mission and the Titan Saturn System Mission, are the result of the merger of separate NASA and ESA mission concepts. NASA originally studied four mission concepts during 2007, which were narrowed down to two proposals in 2008. One finalist was the Europa orbiter to explore this icy moon of Jupiter and its subsurface water ocean. The other was a Titan orbiter to revisit Saturn's moon. Meanwhile, in 2007, ESA had also initiated a competition to select their flagship mission for the Cosmic Vision 2015-2025 slot of its scientific programme. Two finalists, called Laplace and Tandem, were selected for further study. Laplace was proposed as a set of spacecraft to orbit Jupiter and eventually orbit and possibly land on Europa. Tandem was proposed as a set of spacecraft to orbit Titan and explore its surface, after exploring the surface of another moon of Saturn, Enceladus.

You can't help but notice that the typical period between the reversals in the last couple of million years is a lot less than 780,000 years, which is why you might hear talk about us being 'overdue' a reversal. Is this true? When can we next expect the field to reverse? And should we care if it does?

The question of whether we should be expecting a reversal is most easily addressed by taking a longer view. The symmetric pattern of magnetic anomalies either side of mid-ocean ridges, give us a continuous record of magnetic reversals stretching back almost 200 million years. This shows that the time between reversals is not constant, varying from a few hundred thousand years to many millions of years, as it did in the Late Cretaceous normal "superchron" (the big black block between about 85 and 125 million years ago) where the field retained the same polarity for around 40 million years.

New Company Looks to Produce Space Based Solar Power Within a Decade

Written by Nancy Atkinson

Solar Collecting Satellite. Image courtesy of Mafic Studios.

Is space-based solar power (SBSP) a technology whose time has come? The concept and even some of the hardware for harnessing energy from the sun with orbiting solar arrays has been around for some time. But the biggest challenge for making the concept a reality, says entrepreneur Peter Sage of Space Energy, Inc., is that SBSP has never been commercially viable. But that could be changing. Space Energy, Inc. has assembled an impressive team of scientists, engineers and business people, putting together what Sage calls "a rock-solid commercial platform" for their company. And given the current looming issues of growing energy needs and climate change, Space Energy, Inc. could be in the right place at the right time. "Although it’s a very grandiose vision, it makes total sense," Sage told Universe Today. "This is an inevitable technology; it's going to happen. If we can put solar panels in space where the sun shines 24 hours a day, if we have a safe way of transmitting the energy to Earth and broadcasting it anywhere, that is a serious game changer." If everything falls into place for this company, they could be producing commercially available SBSP within a decade.

Professor Roger Angel thinks he can diffract the power of the sun by placing trillions of lenses in space and creating a 100,000-square-mile sunshade. Each lens will have a diffraction pattern etched onto it which will cause the sun's rays to change direction. He intends to use electromagnetic propulsion to get the lenses into space. If work was started immediately Prof Angel thinks the sunshield could be operation by 2040. He said: “Things that take a few decades are not that futuristic.” Researchers at the University of Victoria, Canada, have started experiments using computers to test the idea. Climate scientists are beginning to imagine options like the sunshield as a way of halting climate change. However Prof Martin Hoffert from New York University said: “What you have to be prepared for is that many of these experiments aren’t going to work – this is the way science and engineering progress. You build something, you try it, it doesn’t work, you try it again. This is sometimes called learning by doing.

The " New World Order" Silver Pieces are Here

Silver Stock Report

by Jason Hommel, February .17th, 2009

For months now, many of my readers have been alarmed and have been asking me about the Amero, a theorized currency of a theorized "North American Union", that might be something like the Euro. Most of the questions wonder if the Amero will be a silver currency, and what that means for silver prices.

Clearly, if silver is needed as money, increased monetary demand will make silver go up in value, a lot.

But if silver becomes a world standard, instead of merely a regional standard, silver will go up even more.

See here:

We have 500 of these newly minted, 2009, 1 troy ounce silver pieces up for auction tonight at

They will be auctioned off tonight in 5 lots of 100 oz. each.

I have known about these rounds for a while now, and so, I wrote up something about it here:

Due to my studies of silver, I think I understand a bit of what these might be saying.

The phrase, "The Seventh Silver Standard" seems to suggest that there is a new silver standard emerging in the world today. The old standard of measurement, established by the Coin Act of 1792, was by the grain, or by the dollar. The new standard seems to be by the troy ounce, as many nations have been minting 1 troy ounce .999 fine silver pieces since the mid 1980's. Now, over 20 years later, it seems a new standard is beginning to re-emerge.

There is quite a bit of internet chatter about these new silver pieces.

It appears that the reference to the 666 on the back is about the mark of the Beast from Revelation Chapter 13. Seems a rather bold thing to put on a silver piece. I could never see these being accepted as money by Christians, but only as a novelty item, and many would never accept even that.

On the other hand, these seem to be exactly the opposite of what the 666 from Revelation 13 is all about, so it seems like it's a bit of a mystery here.

Again, we have 500 of these interesting silver pieces up for auction tonight at

We have a total of 2500 oz. up for auction tonight, in 25 different auctions, starting at 7PM.

Bird vs. jet engine

[Update: A bunch of people have commented that this was not actually a bird getting chucked into the engine, but an explosive charge that dislodged a blade inside the engine. That gives you a more dramatic piece of footage than otherwise, but the results are similar.]

When a bird got swept into the engine of Flight 1549 out of NYC in January, the plane went down. How could a bird do that to a plane engine, you might ask? Well, watch this video to find out:

Remember, the fans inside a jet spin very rapidly, and are under a fantastic amount of stress. Poke them hard enough, and kablam.

My first thought was, "Why this doesn’t happen more often?" but then I realized that birds actually don’t take up a lot of space compared to the volume of space a plane uses, and probably stay away from airports because of noise. I suspect that’s a good thing. [Update: BABloggee "Grey Wolf" informs me it is indeed a problem. The FAA spends as much as half a billion dollars per year on this! Wow.]

Joel Rosenberg Confirms Tom Horn Prediction: U.S. To Help Rebuild City Of Babylon In Iraq

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Largely overlooked by the Western news media over the past few weeks was an enormously significant story. The government of Iraq is moving forward with plans to protect the archaeological remains of the ancient City of Babylon, in preparation for building a modern city of Babylon. The project, originally started by the late Saddam Hussein, is aimed eventually at attracting scores of "cultural tourists" from all over the world to see the glories of Mesopotamia's most famous city. What's more, the Obama Administration is contributing $700,000 towards "The Future of Babylon Project," through the State Department's budget. "Officials hope Babylon can be revived and made ready for a rich future of tourism, with help from experts at the World Monuments Fund (WMF) and the U.S. embassy," reports the Reuters news agency. "'The Future of Babylon' project launched last month seeks to 'map the current conditions of Babylon and develop a master plan for its conservation, study and tourism,' the WMF says. 'We don't know how long it will take to reopen to tourists,' said Mariam Omran Musa, head of a government inspection team based at the site. 'It depends on funds. I hope that Babylon can be reborn in a better image.'"

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

In collaboration with Iraq's State Board of Antiquities and Heritage (SBAH), the WMF will assess Babylon's current condition using state-of-the-art technologies so that a plan for the ancient city's conservation, study and tourism can be developed. Babylon has suffered recently from neglect, the insensitive reconstructions of Saddam Hussein and damage to the site resulting from its use as a military base. Its archaeological features will be thoroughly mapped. Burnham said, "The legendary city of Nebuchadnezzar, known for its famous hanging gardens and one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, Babylon is an extraordinarily important archaeological site where some of the earliest laws were written and Alexander the Great spent his final days. It is now a place in desperate need of help." The World Monuments Fund's staff has been training the SBAH's core team for the Babylon project in site management planning, documentation and assessment. Members of the Iraqi contingent participated in a May 2008 WMF-organized workshop in Amman, Jordan, where they were instructed in digital surveying techniques. Along with the WMF, the Getty Conservation Institute (GCI) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) have provided Iraq's State Board of Antiquities and Heritage with research materials, computers and scientific equipment to perform a variety of field tasks. They will now be used at Babylon...
