The Corpus Christi Police Department gets new robot car

CORPUS CHRISTI - The Corpus Christi police welcomed the newest member of the department. Meet P.C Patrol car. It may look like a toy, but police are counting on this interactive robot car to send kids a big message on how to prevent crime.

Kids can ask it questions about crimes and get answers on how to stop them from happening.

"What we're trying to do with the PC Patrol Car is reach our youngest audience," Police Chief Bryan Smith said. "Reach the kids in the community and make sure we're getting out a message of prevention in a manner that will stick in their minds for some time."

The $8,000 remote-operated robot was funded by the Crime Control District. Officers plan to take P.C. to local schools, malls, and events to help mentor kids at these places.
