Sears is selling HOLIDAY TREES - not christmas trees. If you say "MERRY CHRISTMAS" in any major chain store, they respond with "HAPPY HOLIDAYS". A school cancelled the production of a Charles Dickens play because it has the word CHRISTMAS in it - "A CHRISTMAS CAROL". Santa Claus’s good-natured “ho ho ho” and characteristic round physique are being scrutinized as too politically incorrect for some tastes. YET, it is o.k. to use Santa Clause at Christmas Time... OOPS sorry - Holiday time. Why are we catering to special interest groups and banning the word CHRISTMAS...

have people forgot what this holiday season originally meant?

Again, WHEN DID THE PHRASE "MERRY CHRISTMAS" BECOME SO TABOO?

People have forgotten the original meaning of "Christmas" - which was not originally called Christmas, it was merely an invention of Christians to stamp out Paganism. Ever heard of a thing called, oh what is it, Yule? So don't say, "Have they forgotten the original meaning of Christmas?" because that's an oxymoron. Educate yourself. Christianity =! Paganism.
