WASHINGTON (AP) - There's a stockpile of plutonium and other nuclear weapons materials being stored at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. But, according to a government audit, the materials haven't been fully accounted for in over a dozen years.
The Energy Department's inspector general, Gregory Friedman, says lab workers have done partial inventories on a regular basis, but not a full accounting. Not even when the lab's management contract changed hands last year.
