1234(WMR) -- They were always seen by all who passed by, broke and idle in a number of Washington, DC, parks and grassy nooks. After 9/11, however, they began to disappear and in large numbers. “They” were the familiar faces of Washington’s homeless.
From Lafayette Park, across Pennsylvania Avenue from the White House, to Virginia Avenue across from the State Department, and Franklin Square, amid the city’s glass and steel towers housing DC’s power elite to tony Georgetown, many homeless people, both those truly down on their luck and those who were mentally ill, began to disappear.
As one Washington homeless advocate told this editor, “These people simply vanished.”
The disappearance of homeless people from the streets of Washington began under the administration of Mayor Anthony Williams and continues in force under that of Adrian Fenty. Both African-American mayors, Democrats but beholden to deep-pocketed land developers in a city that rarely elects Republicans to office, began to quietly make it tougher for the homeless to survive in the nation’s capital. Last year, Fenty announced that the Franklin School Shelter at 13th an K Streets would be phased out, leaving the homeless residents of that shelter little choice but to move to the streets.
Last August, a number of homeless activists picketed Fenty’s home over the plans to close the Franklin shelter. WMR was told by one spokesperson for the homeless that one of the protesters, John McDermott, has also now “vanished.” The spokesperson added that there are many cases of people known to live on the streets of Washington simply “disappearing” without a trace.
Some major cities, including New York and Atlanta, have been discovered to be “dumping” their homeless residents on other smaller towns and cities. Others threaten their homeless with prison unless they leave town with usually a one-way bus ticket provided.
However, there is no evidence that Washington, DC, has been dumping homeless on other cities or paying their transportation out of town. The homeless spokesperson interviewed by WMR said that DC’s homeless are simply “vanishing” without a trace. DC officials in charge of the homeless are very tight-lipped when asked about the fate of unaccounted for homeless in the city.
Although the best-case scenario is that these unfortunate people have, in fact, been relocated to other areas, the spokesman ended the interview on a chilling note. He said with federal camps and a high demand for any usable body parts by the lucrative transplant industry, he feared the worst may have befallen some of DC’s “invisible residents.”

Like the unidentified rocket slash missiles flying over Houston, this story deserves more attention and investigation...yet there's nothing other than the assumption that a truck "must have" dumped them and left the scene.
Let's examine the few facts we have (all quotes re shoes are from media reports):
1. Thousands of shoes were dumped on a Miami expressway causing significant traffic delays.
2. Lt. Pat Santangelo said the shoes appear to be used, and most were tied together in pairs. There were no signs of a crash, and no one stopped to claim them.
3. City workers with broom sticks and Road Rangers who come to the aid of stranded motorists were all taking part in clearing one lane of a quarter mile section of expressway.
4. Palmetto Expressway: At 10-12 total driving lanes (5-6 each way), it's one of Florida's widest and busiest expressways.[wiki]
Putting 3 and 4 together, it seems as though at least 5 lanes were littered with shoes for a quarter mile...wouldn't that be more than a semi or dumptruck could carry?
But see 5.
5. The Florida Highway Patrol received the report during rush hour Friday morning, Lt. Pat Santangelo said. A private contractor brought a front-end loader and a dump truck to the half-mile stretch of highway. Workers were able to clear at least one lane after a short time by sweeping all the shoes to shoulder, but delays were expected to last until all the shoes could be removed.
6. Conclusion: That's a lot of shoes. Tied together.
7. 9. It is a fact that the Office of Naval Intelligence had prior knowledge of, and were therefore complicit in, the attacks of 9/11.

Fresno Mayor Ashley Swearengin locked the gate on the city's homeless camps on Thursday.
The city vacated two homeless camps on property owned by Union Pacific Railroad. The railroad will now be able to recapture the land as private property.
The Mayor was on hand to personally lock the fences around the camps to keep the homeless out.
The city has offered housing help to all of the people living in the camps and dozens have already accepted. They have been relocated to Fresno apartments and motels with money from the general fund.
ACLU Sues Sanyta Monica for Harrassing and Arresting and Deporting Homeless
“By all accounts there has been an increase in arrests and citations, which indicates there appears to be a new policy and practice to drive the homeless out of Santa Monica, and the tool for that is greater selective enforcement,” she said.
When asked, Pasquarella said that the ACLU did not request information from the Police Department concerning the number of citations and arrests of homeless persons.
The lawsuit was spurred by some of those who work for Santa Monica’s social service providers and was corroborated by homeless residents, Pasquarella said.
“We spoke to probably 20 homeless residents and took their stories,” she said. “Prior to this we were speaking to numerous service providers. That’s how we were introduced to this problem.
“The police abuse was reported to us by people who are active in Santa Monica or who are in City government,” she said.
Santa Monica is the third city to be sued by the ACLU of Southern California in recent months for “criminalizing” chronically homeless people, typically those who are disabled and have lived on the streets for years, ACLU officials said.
The ACLU previously sued Laguna Beach and Santa Barbara, and reached a settlement with the City of Laguna Beach last month.
“It’s not only illegal but callous and inhumane for any city to have its police officers cite, arrest and harass mentally ill or physically disabled homeless persons, even as it fails to provide them with sufficient shelter space,” Rosenbaum said.
“But it’s particularly shocking and hypocritical in Santa Monica, which touts itself on its website as a forward-thinking, caring community,” he added.
The ACLU's complaint vastly underestimates the number of emergency and temporary shelter beds for the estimated 915 homeless people living in Santa Monica on any given day, City officials said.
ACLU officials place the number of beds at 180, far fewer than the 450 beds Santa Monica officials say the City provides.
City officials also note that Santa Monica has shifted its homeless strategy from providing emergency services to permanently housing the chronically homeless. The City has placed more than 1,500 homeless in housing over the past five years, officials said.
“The focus is no longer on developing shelters,” Rusk said. “That is not the answer, and we are very clear about that.”
Outside of Santa Monica, there are few if any emergency or temporary shelter beds on the Westside, except for the cold weather shelters at the Culver City and West LA armories, according to information from the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority.
Neighboring cities such as Beverly Hills, Malibu, West Hollywood and Culver City, as well as Marina del Rey and West Los Angeles, do not provide any emergency or temporary shelter beds.
Santa Monica officials find the timing of the lawsuit ironic.
On Tuesday, Santa Monica’s Homeless Community Court launched by the City more than two years ago convened its first session at the LAX Courthouse. The court allows the homeless who are arrested for a misdemeanor to avoid jail time if they agree to enter a social service program. ( "Homeless Court Is Now in Session," February 5, 2007)
"Here we are after we fight so hard to develop this court, and we're facing a lawsuit from the ACLU," Rusk said. "It's really unfortunate."
The plaintiffs in the lawsuit were sleeping on the streets because there were no shelter beds available or because they were driven from the beachside city of 88,0000 by police, according to the lawsuit.
One of the plaintiffs in the case, Nadine Chlubna, a chronically homeless woman who is a paranoid schizophrenic, has been arrested and jailed at least three times by Santa Monica police officers for “camping” on city streets, according to the lawsuit.
Chlubna, who believes spaceships are trying to kill her, currently sleeps on a sidewalk near Venice Beach after Santa Monica police told her repeatedly to “move on,” the lawsuit states
Another plaintiff, Keith Greene, a 38-year-old recovering addict, was arrested by Santa Monica police for sleeping at 4 a.m. just outside a local homeless shelter where there were no available beds.
According to the lawsuit, Greene showed police his employee badge at a Vernon produce plant and pleaded to be allowed to go to work.
Police told him “there was a city policy to arrest anyone sleeping in public, handcuffed him and jailed him for two days,” ACLU officials said. Greene was fired from his job.

D.C. Homeless Being Pushed Out for Inauguration
WASHINGTON – Frank Mearns has left the place he calls home, a stone's throw from the White House, and joined thousands of others in Washington who were forced to pull up stakes and move from their regular digs for the presidential inauguration.
But Mearns isn't making a quick buck by renting out his pied-a-terre, as some Washington residents are. Nor did he head out of town on an inauguration escape holiday, as some locals did.
He's one of Washington's army of homeless cleared from the center of the U.S. capital ahead of the historic inauguration of Barack Obama.
"Everyone's got to be out of here and stay out until next Thursday," the 37-year-old said.
"Here" is a space on 14th Street and New York Avenue, in the heart of a zone in the center of Washington that will be closed to traffic and policed heavily during the inauguration.
"Here" is also home to Mearns and a dozen other homeless people each night.
Five of his fellow street dwellers work full-time but can't afford to pay the high rents in the Washington area. Another was displaced from his home in New Orleans by Hurricane Katrina. And a few women also are in the group.
"There's a lady who's been on the streets for 10 years and been raped seven times," Mearns told AFP. "She sleeps next to the guy from Katrina and if he's not here, she sleeps somewhere else. She sleeps here for safety. She doesn't know where she'll go next week."
Up to 1,200 people live rough in the security zone, including Pennsylvania Avenue, the grand boulevard which the inaugural parade will march down, said Michael O'Neill of the National Coalition for the Homeless.
The effort to clear Washington streets of the district's homeless population was unlike anything that former homeless man David Pirtle has witnessed.
"I was on the streets when George W. Bush had his second inauguration in 2005 and it was nothing like this. There were no large-scale sweeps. I slept on Pennsylvania Avenue the night before and the night after the inauguration," said the 34-year-old who now works for the National Coalition for the Homeless.
"But as hard as the administration is going to try to make this look sanitary, the homeless are not going to be invisible. You can't make 6,000-12,000 people disappear," he said, citing official figures for homelessness in Washington proper and the greater metropolitan area, including suburbs in Virginia and Maryland.
A dozen shelters will be open round-the-clock in Washington from Sunday until Wednesday, the day after Obama takes office, to provide temporary housing for the homeless.
The shelters will be equipped with televisions, showing live coverage of Obama's swearing-in.
But they have only around 2,800 beds. And "things happen" in shelters, said Mearns, who will be staying with an activist friend for the week.
Between 1 million and 2 million people are expected to pour into Washington, a city of 400,000, for the inauguration, some paying tens of thousands of dollars a night for a hotel room and to attend lavish inaugural balls.
Given the huge numbers expected, unprecedented security measures are being put in place to try to ensure that the inauguration Tuesday runs smoothly and safely.
"I don't fault the people who are putting this together for trying to make it a safe event because if there are a couple of million people crammed into the middle of Washington, it could be a target for something," Pirtle said.
"But you can do it and work with the community," he said.
Washington Mayor Adrian Fenty has estimated that the inauguration will cost the city about $47 million, while Maryland and Virginia have estimated their outlay at $12 million and $16 million respectively.
"We are showing our priorities as a nation: throwing a mult-million-dollar party while trying to shovel our poor and our homeless under the carpet," Pirtle said.
"It's an inauspicious start to our new administration of hope that Obama wants to work for," he said, blaming city and security officials rather than the president-elect, who he said is "stuck in the middle.
Presidential Inauguration Committee spokesman Kevin Griffiths said he would "check what our interaction has been with the local authorities about the homeless," and stressed that the organizers have been at pains to make the historic investiture as inclusive as possible.

Haunts: Democracy beyond asylum
On July 14, during the second day of hearings for Judge Sonia Sotamayor, Senator Charles Schumer noted, smiling: “in the nearly 850 cases you have decided in the 2nd Circuit, you ruled in favor of the government — that is, against the petitioners seeking asylum, the immigrants seeking asylum — 83 percent of the time. That happens to be the exact statistical median rate for your court. It’s not one way or the other.” These numbers are meant to assure us that, when it comes to foreigners and asylum seekers, the Judge is ok. She has a balanced record.
Asylum is a legal court procedure with rules and codes and whatever else. But it’s also about sanctuary, an inviolable place of refuge, of safety from seizure. The people who seek that asylum, the asylum of refuge, are not all immigrants, nor are they all `foreigners’. Where in this country can the seekers go to find asylum?
Not Santa Monica. The American Civil Liberties Union sued the city of Santa Monica this week for violating homeless peoples’ rights by harassing and arresting them, all while the city cuts back on beds for the homeless. They call it “a deportation program for the homeless”. It sounds like the poorhouses of England in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, when the State fenced off the common land and forced peasants to move to find work, and then passed anti-vagabond laws, which criminalized unregulated popular movement. And so a cheap, reserve labor force came into being. What profit does Santa Monica wrest from the bodies of the twenty first century imprisoned poors?
Nadine Chlubna is a 56 year old schizophrenic paranoid woman who fears spaceships and the Santa Monica police force. Only the police have actually ever done her any harm, having arrested her three times and mocked her delusional fears of interplanetary aliens. Where is asylum for Nadine Chlubna? Not in Santa Monica.
Santa Monica was the mother of Saint Augustine of Hippo. You can read all about her in The Confessions. It’s good stuff. And you know where Monica and her son Augustine were born and lived much of their lives? North Africa. They were Berbers from what is today called Algeria. Augustine moved to Italy, and, after her husband died, Monica followed. As immigrants, they found asylum. Would the same happen in Santa Monica or in Italy? I doubt it.
The National Law Center on Homelessness & Poverty and the National Coalition for the Homeless just released a report, Homes Not Handcuffs, which lists the ten meanest cities in the United States, those that most viciously and thoroughly criminalize the homeless and militarize the streets and all public spaces. Number one? Los Angeles, just down the road from Santa Monica: “A study by UCLA released in September 2007 found that Los Angeles was spending $6 million a year to pay for fifty extra police officers to crack down on crime in the Skid Row area at a time when the city budgeted only $5.7 million for homeless services.” Six million for 50 cops, 5.7 for all the homeless. It’s a delicate balance. You know what the crimes were? Jaywalking. Loitering. Serious stuff.
Here’s what six million dollars buys: “Police brutality against homeless people intensified during the crackdown on crime in Skid Row. In June 2007, the Los Angeles County Community Action Network reported one example: two L.A. Police officers attacked a petite homeless woman, who may have been mentally disabled, with clubs and pepper spray. Police reportedly beat her and tied her down.” Six million dollars doesn’t buy asylum, doesn’t buy security. It buys beat-downs, tie-downs, lock downs, and fear. At six million, it’s a bargain.
In Bradenton, Florida, the ninth meanest city in the U.S., a police officer arrested a homeless woman, and tried to help her maintain her possessions. Everything she owned was in a shopping cart. The officer, Nicholas Evans, pulled the cart alongside his car for the 12-mile drive to the county jail. Imagine that. He was punished. Imagine that. I hope he learned his lesson.
In Denver, “two women were confronted by police at the 16th Street Mall when trying to help out homeless individuals. One of the women gave a homeless man a hamburger and a dollar in front of two undercover police officers. One of the police officers proceeded to chase her down and forced her back to where she gave the homeless man the burger. One undercover officer said that he could arrest her for giving money and food to a panhandler after dark. When she questioned that such a law exists and asked to see his badge, the police refused to do so and told her to leave.” Another woman bought a fleece blanket for a man in wheelchair, outside the same mall. Denver winters, high in the Rocky Mountains, are cold, in more ways than one: “when she tried to give the man the blanket, an officer told her to stop and asked her for identification. While the police confronted her, the man in the wheelchair left. She was subsequently arrested for interfering with law enforcement.”
From sea to shining sea, undercover and uniformed police are harassing the homeless and anyone who tries to offer assistance. Where is asylum in this world? What is the word for the system in which women and men who need help and women and men who want to help are made to feel the full heat and weight of the security State? In the United States, it’s called democracy, democracy beyond asylum.
DHS SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES SEVENTH ANNUAL
HOMELESS OUTREACH POPULATION ESTIMATE (HOPE)
Thousands of volunteers make one night count
January 27, 2009 – More than 2,000 volunteers hit the pavement to conduct the seventh annual Homeless Outreach Population Estimate (HOPE) on Monday, January 26, 2009. The survey, which estimates the number of unsheltered individuals living on City streets, subway platforms, parks and other public spaces, helps gauge the success of outreach strategies against street homelessness. Volunteers each took over 10,000 steps to conduct the count, as they canvassed New York City and each of its five boroughs on foot.
"No one should ever have to endure the cruelties and discomforts of life on the streets," said Homeless Services Commissioner Robert V. Hess. "Not only does HOPE provide us a better understanding of the effectiveness of outreach efforts, but it also raises awareness citywide to the needs of homeless individuals. With the hard work and dedication of our volunteers, HOPE is a single night endeavor that counts in the lives of many vulnerable New Yorkers."
A news conference at the Manhattan media site kicked off the event at 11:00 p.m., after volunteers met at training sites located throughout the five boroughs. Following a brief orientation, teams dispersed to survey assigned geographic areas from midnight until 4 a.m.
Previous HOPE counts have demonstrated a 25 percent reduction in street homelessness since 2005 and a 12 percent decrease between 2007 and 2008. By measuring the number of individuals living on the streets each year, the City and its nonprofit outreach partners are able to evaluate if street homelessness is increasing or decreasing and adjust efforts in targeting this population.
In addition, to ensure the survey’s integrity, "decoys" posing as homeless individuals were also planted. This "count within a count" measures the precision of the total estimate and allows HOPE to adjust its final estimate accordingly. The shadow count methodology was developed by Dr. Kim Hopper, a research scientist with the Nathan Kline Institute.
The City’s methodology for estimating the size of the street homeless population has been acknowledged by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as the "HUD standard" for statistically valid methodologies. Volunteer teams canvassed all areas identified to likely have at least one street homeless individual. In addition, a random sample of those areas not identified as likely to have street homeless individuals were also canvassed.

A U.S. Army Reserve major from Florida scheduled to report for deployment to Afghanistan within days has had his military orders revoked after he argued that he should not be required to serve under a president who has not proven his legitimacy for office.
His attorney, Orly Taitz, confirmed to WND the military has rescinded his impending deployment orders.
"We won! We won before we even arrived," she said with excitement. "It means that the military has nothing to show for Obama. It means that the military has directly responded by saying Obama is illegitimate – and they cannot fight it. Therefore, they are revoking the order!"
She continued, "They just said, 'Order revoked.' No explanation. No reasons – just revoked."
A hearing on the questions raised by Maj. Stefan Frederick Cook, an engineer who told WND he wants to serve his country in Afghanistan , was scheduled for July 16 at 9:30 a.m.
"As an officer in the armed forces of the United States , it is [my] duty to gain clarification on any order we may believe illegal. With that said, if President Obama is found not to be a 'natural-born citizen,' he is not eligible to be commander-in- chief," he told WND only hours after the case was filed.
"[Then] any order coming out of the presidency or his chain of command is illegal. Should I deploy, I would essentially be following an illegal [order]. If I happened to be captured by the enemy in a foreign land, I would not be privy to the Geneva Convention protections," he said.
The order for the hearing in the federal court for the Middle District of Georgia from U.S. District Judge Clay D. Land said the hearing on the request for a temporary restraining order would be held Thursday.
Cook said without a legitimate president as commander-in- chief, members of the U.S. military in overseas actions could be determined to be "war criminals and subject to prosecution."
He said the vast array of information about Obama that is not available to the public confirms to him that "something is amiss."
"That and the fact the individual who is occupying the White House has not been entirely truthful with anybody," he said. "Every time anyone has made an inquiry, it has been either cast aside, it has been maligned, it has been laughed at or just dismissed summarily without further investigation.
"You know what. It would be so simple to solve. Just produce the long-form document, certificate of live birth," he said.
He said he was scheduled to report for duty tomorrow, on July 15, to deploy to Afghanistan as part of President Obama's plan to increase pressure of insurgent forces there.
He told WND he would be prepared for a backlash against him as a military officer, since members of the military swear to uphold and follow their orders. However, he noted that following an illegal order would be just as bad as failing to follow a legal order.
Named as defendants in the case are Col. Wanda Good, Col. Thomas Macdonald, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and Obama, described as "de facto president of the United States .
According to the court filing, Cook affirmed when he joined the military, he took the following oath: "I, Stefan Frederick Cook, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the president of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to the regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."
According to the claim, "Plaintiff submits that it is implicit though not expressly stated that an officer is and should be subject to court-martial, because he will be derelict in the performance of his duties, if he does not inquire as to the lawfulness, the legality, the legitimacy of the orders which he has received, whether those orders are specific or general."
The military courts offer no option for raising the question, so he turned to civilian courts to consider "a question of paramount constitutional and legal importance: the validity of the chain of command under a president whose election, eligibility, and constitutional status appear open to serious question."
"Barack Hussein Obama, in order to prove his constitutional eligibility to serve as president, basically needs only produce a single unique historical document for the Plaintiff’s inspection and authentication: namely, the 'long-form' birth certificate which will confirm whether Barack Hussein Obama was in fact born to parents who were both citizens of the United States in Honolulu, Hawaii, in or about 1961," explains the complaint.
Taitz said she will attend the hearing to amend the temporary restraining order to an injunction because more members of the military have joined the cause.
"We are going to be asking for release of Obama's records because now this completely undermines the military. It revoked this order, but it can come up with another order tomorrow. It can come up with orders for other people," she said. "Am I going to be flying around the country 1,000 times and paying the fees every time they issue an order?"
Taitz said the issue "must be resolved immediately," and she will continue working to ensure Obama proves he is eligible for office.
"We're going to be asking the judge to issue an order for Obama to provide his vital records to show he is legitimately president," she said. "We're going to say, we have orders every day, and we'll have revocations every day. This issue has to be decided."
She said there cannot be any harm to the president if he is legitimately holding office.
"If he is legitimate, then his vital records will prove it," Taitz said. "If he is illegitimate, then he should not have been there in the first place."
Asked what this decision means for every other serviceman who objects to deployment under a president who has not proven he is eligible for office, Taitz responded:
"Now, we can have each and every member of the military – each and every enlistee and officer – file something similar saying 'I will not take orders until Obama is legitimately vetted.'"
Multiple questions have been raised about what that would mean to the 2008 election, to the orders and laws Obama has signed and other issues, including whether he then is a valid commander-in- chief of the military.

According to Berg, he filed the suit--just days before the DNC is to hold its nominating convention in Denver--for the health of the Democratic Party.
"I filed this action at this time," Berg stated, "to avoid the obvious problems that will occur when the Republican Party raises these issues after
Obama is nominated.".
Berg cited a number of unanswered questions regarding the Illinois senator's background, and in today's lawsuit maintained that Sen.
Obama is not a naturalized U.S. citizen or that, if he ever was, he lost his citizenship when he was adopted in Indonesia. Berg also cites what he
calls "dual loyalties" due to his citizenship and ties with Kenya and Indonesia.
Even if Sen. Obama can prove his U.S. citizenship, Berg stated, citing the senator's use of a birth certificate from the state of Hawaii verified as a forgery by three independent document forensic experts, the issue of "multi-citizenship with responsibilities owed to and allegiance to other countries" remains on the table.
In the lawsuit, Berg states that Sen. Obama was born in Kenya, and not in Hawaii as the senator maintains. Before giving birth,
according to the l awsuit, Obama's mother traveled to Kenya with his father but was prevented from flying back to Hawaii because of the late stage of her pregnancy, "apparently a normal restriction to avoid births during a flight." As Sen. Obama's own paternal grandmother, half-brother and half-sister have also claimed, Berg maintains that Stanley Ann Dunham--Obama's mother--gave birth to little Barack in Kenya and subsequently flew to Hawaii to register the birth.
Berg cites inconsistent accounts of Sen. Obama's birth, including reports that he was born at two separate hospitals--Kapiolani
Hospital and Queens Hospital--in Honolulu, as well a profound lack of birthing records for Stanley Ann Dunham, though simple "registry of birth" records for Barack Obama are available in a Hawaiian public records office.
Should Sen. Obama truly have been born in Kenya, Berg writes, the laws on the books at the time of his birth hold that U.S.
citizenship may only pass to a child born overseas to a U.S. citizen parent and non-citizen parent if the former was at least 19 years of age. Sen. Obama's mother was only 18 at the time. Therefore, because U.S. citizenship could not legally be passed on to him, Obama could not be registered as a "natural born" citizen and would therefore be ineligible to seek the presidency pursuant to Article II, Section 1 of the United States Constitution.
Moreover, even if Sen. Obama could have somehow been deemed "natural born," that citizenship was lost in or around 1967 when he and his
mother took up residency in Indonesia, where Stanley Ann Dunham married Lolo Soetoro, an Indonesian citizen. Berg also states that he possesses copies of Sen. Obama's registration to Fransiskus Assisi School In Jakarta, Indonesia which clearly show that he was regi stered under the name "Barry Soetoro" and his citizenship listed as Indonesian.
The Hawaiian birth certificate, Berg says, is a forgery. In the suit, the attorney states that the birth certificate on record is a forgery, has been identified as such by three independent document forensic experts, and actually belonged to Maya Kasandra Soetoro, Sen. Obama's half-sister.
"Voters donated money, goods and services to elect a nominee and were defrauded by Sen. Obama's lies and obfuscations,"
Berg stated. "If the DNC officers ... had performed one ounce of due diligence we would not find ourselves in this emergency predicament, one week away from making a person the nominee who has lost their citizenship as a child and failed to even perform the basic steps of regaining citizenship as prescribed by constitutional laws."

As it turns out, the story has a connection to the Democratic presidential candidate.

The author says he traveled to Kenya to investigate Senator Obama's relationship with radical Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga. Corsi says just before he was ready to conduct a news conference to reveal his findings, he was detained by Kenyan immigration and military officials and was held for several hours.
"For those 13 hours I had no idea what was going to happen -- a very, very frightening experience," Corsi shares. "[But] it was clear...through the course of the day that Odinga did not want the information [I was prepared to share] released in Kenya. And so I'm sure the Obama-Odinga camp considered what I came up with in Kenya too explosive to allow the press conference to happen."
Jerome Corsi The information he wanted to present in Kenya, says Corsi, had to do with an agreement Odinga signed with a radical Muslim leader in exchange for Islamic votes in the 2006 election for president.
"And Odinga agreed to sign this memorandum of understanding to expand Sharia law, or Islamic law, to get Muslims to vote for him," he explains. "And Obama started campaigning for Odinga, [and] raised a million dollars...in the United States for Odinga's presidential campaign in Kenya."
According to Corsi, the only other major contributor to Odinga was Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.

The U.S. Senate must vote NO on Judge Sonia Sotomayor!
In defending her decision that the states could enact any form of gun control they wished -- with absolutely no regard to the Second Amendment -- Judge Sonya Sotomayor has developed a new love for Nineteenth Century court opinions.
Demonstrating that she was programmed in her responses, Sotomayor defended one of her earlier legal opinions by citing "footnote 23" of Justice Antonin Scalia's opinion in the DC v. Heller case last year.
But, when pressed by questioner Orrin Hatch yesterday, Sotomayor could not recite the contents of that footnote or the holdings of the cases which it cited. As it turns out, the footnote on which Sotomayor claims to rely, cited -- without approval -- two Nineteenth Century cases which rejected the notion that the Second Amendment was 'incorporated' to apply to the states.
But those were also the days when the Supreme Court held that the rights protected in the First Amendment did not apply to the states. Apparently, Sotomayor wants to base her anti-gun philosophy on antiquated decisions from an era when the U.S. Supreme Court was spitting out racist decisions.
Her answers got even worse today when Republican Senator Tom Coburn of Oklahoma asked her, point blank, "Is there a constitutional right to self-defense? " Sotomayor said that was an "abstract question" and that she couldn't think of a Supreme Court case that addressed that issue.
Coburn said he didn't want a legal treatise on what Supreme Court holdings have said, rather, he wanted her own personal opinion. Sotomayor would not answer the question, although when pressed, she equated self-defense with vigilantism!
Folks, do you see how important it is to stop this nomination? GOA mailed its members postcards opposing Sotomayor not too long ago. Please make sure you have mailed those in. We need a multi-pronged offensive right now where our Senators are receiving snail mail, email and phone calls.
And, we need ALL PRO-GUN ORGANIZATIONS to take a stance AGAINST this nominee.
Organizational spokesmen can talk a good game and say they have serious "concerns" about Sotomayor. That's all well and good. But unless those organizations (big and small) rate each Senator's vote on Sotomayor -- when she's clearly anti-gun -- then those supposed "concerns" are just meaningless.
Senators have to hear from ALL the pro-gun organizations -- big and small -- that they are going to rate this vote during the 2010 election. Otherwise, those organizations are just Paper Tigers.
We can't let this anti-gun judge infiltrate U.S. Supreme Court! She is dangerous on so many levels -- but, especially, on Second Amendment rights.
GOA considers her nomination to be of the most important gun votes in the HISTORY of the US Senate. We can't think of any other nominee in recent history who has taken such a horrid stand on the basic right of self-defense.
She says that she will follow the precedent in the DC v. Heller (2008) case. But even if she does, that only means that she will vote to apply the Second Amendment in Washington, DC. She has already ruled this year in Maloney v. Cuomo that the amendment doesn't apply to where you live.

Even though President Obama is extremely anti-gun, I still started with an open mind regarding his nomination of Judge Sonia Sotomayor. But after her testimony these past two days, there is no way that she should be confirmed to the U.S. Supreme Court.
