Jay-Z Sides With The ‘Evil Illuminati' and calls 'Ole Boy Obama "My Nigger"

New World Order: How Secret Organizations Control Society Through Actors, Musicians and, of course, Politicians.

I’ve already explained how a small time rapper who couldn’t get a record deal mysteriously became one of the most respected and powerful men in the hip-hop industry. Jay-Z is now entering the “social” arena and has worked on projects with politicians such as Michael Bloomberg.

Let me now talk about Jay-Z’s trademark hand-sign. “Throwing up the roc” or “throwing up the diamond” is a way that Jay-Z and his partners communicate signals to each other. It’s kind of like a secret hand shake / gang-sign. It also happens to be a Masonic symbol.

Here are some photos Jay-Z and Kanye West displaying their allegiance to the Masons and the Illuminati:
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Now here are other well know celebrities, including Al Sharpton and Tom Cruise, joining in:

Jay-Z is merely displaying the pyramid, without the eye, we can’t be sure of anything, right?

Well, we now know that Barack Obama has been sent by the Illuminati to become that All Seeing Eye. Look at these photos:

That’s the pyramid sign held up by Obama supporters (that’s Barack in the background).

Recently, though, the Illuminati has introduced a new hand gesture for Obama supporters to show:

I’ll be keeping my eye on all of the players involved in this conspiracy. There’s so much here and it’s so secretive that I’m not sure what my next move should be. Getting this information on the net is a start. As I said in the first part of this two part inquiry, my suspicions were first raised after I read Profit over People by Noam Chomsky, in that book, Chomsky talks about a well-informed public as “the ultimate weapon” against global corporations and conspirators. Prof. Chomsky explains how the Internet was an important tool in educating the public and organizing protests against the Multilateral Agreement on Investment, which was basically an attempt by New World Order/Illuminati/Masons/The Clinton Adm. and other secretive global powers to oppress the people of the world. I hope that my posts about the Obama/Jay-Z/Illuminati connection will have a similar affect.

Limbaugh on Hannity: Racism is 'the exclusive province of the left'

Rush Limbaugh's Shocking Words for President Obama

This is a rush transcript from "Hannity," January 21, 2009. This copy may not be in its final form and may be updated.

SEAN HANNITY, HOST: At the same time a breathless media continues to ramp up expectations for the new administration using the word "historic" at every opportunity. And it's against this background that I spoke exclusively with the one and only Rush Limbaugh.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

HANNITY: So we have a new president now. Abraham Lincoln or FDR or Barack Obama, obviously. First of all, what are your general thoughts about him as a person?

LIMBAUGH: Well, I — this is — this is really tough, you know, because I've never met him. I don't know him except how and what I've seen on television. And I'm suspicious. When I see the media and the entire establishment on the left lay down and become cult-like and not examine who he is, what he's done, and not really examine what he says, but just praise him because of how he says it, my antenna go up.

Video: Watch part 1 of Sean's exclusive I Part 2

I'll tell you, you know, a lot of people right now just — they're absorbed in the historical nature of this, first black president and so forth. Well, that is wonderful. That's great. But I got over that months ago after he won the election.

I mean, Sean, he is our president now. And he's not black, he's not from Mars, he's not — he's our president, he's a human being. We're a country comprised of human beings that the Democrat Party and the left have attempted to arrange into groups of victims, and that's who he appeals to, and the victims are the people waiting around for some grievance to be resolved.

They're waiting around for something to happen for them, and he is parlaying that. I think the fact that he's African-American, his father was black, to me it's irrelevant. This is the greatest country on earth. We want to keep it that way. It is that way for specific reasons.

Now I look at the things that he has said, and I'm very much concerned that our greatness is going to be redefined in such a way that it won't be great, that we're just going to become average. You cannot have this large of government role in the private sector with so many people thinking that just because they're Americans they're entitled to things, that this guy is going to pass them out and keep this country great and innovative, full of entrepreneurs, and — these things concern me.

Now my critics, and yours, when they hear me say things like this, they — have knee-jerk reactions. They're not listening or parsing my words, either. They're just, Limbaugh is not with the program. Limbaugh doesn't get it. Limbaugh is not sensible.

I — president of the United States. Doesn't matter to me what his race is, what his ethnicity is. What matters to me are his policies and what his plans, and I only know what he has said he's going to do based — and what he has done and how he's voted, and in terms of what I would use to define the greatness of the country, he's not it.

HANNITY: All right. Let's take that a step further here because all throughout the election, we all talked about the Chicago way, his radical friends, associates, et cetera.

LIMBAUGH: Yes.

HANNITY: His past voting record. By the way, I brought it up a lot, you brought it up a lot, we all talked about it.

What — do you think he really is that and people either ignored it, people don't care, or is he just somebody who is politically expedient? That's what he had to do in Chicago?

LIMBAUGH: We don't know. See, this is the thing. Now normally we would have — a mainstream media would have vetted this guy and we would know this. We don't know what he is. That's the whole point. And people don't care what he is. They don't care who he is.

They care that he's black. They care that he's historic. They care that — they think he's an intellectual because of the way he speaks. And it's all about how he speaks. And I look at some of the facial expressions of people when they're watching the guy, and it's frightening.

But I'm a thinker. A lot of people, I guess, aren't. People are emotional and they react emotionally to things, and if he makes them feel good, especially in economic bad times, then that's all they're really going to care about.

I have — I have to assume that he is who he is and his radical associations are certainly things that have defined him. If you look at the executive orders that he's promised to issue, he's going to overturn the — abortion law that has guided who we fund overseas in terms of family planning, and that's been a roller coaster.

You know, Clinton imposed it, Bush rescinded it, Obama's going to re- impose it and so forth. He's going to issue an executive order to close Guantanamo Bay, but it ain't going to happen for four years.

I think he just wasn't — he plays both sides. He's going to placate the far left Fringe Kook base, his Web site people, and OK, he's going to close Guantanamo, but he's not going to close Guantanamo, because he — and he's not going to get out of Iraq in 16 months, he's going to say so, but he's not going to saddle himself with defeat of forces in Iraq or Afghanistan, and he's certainly not — I can't believe that he's — he will willingly release people at Guantanamo who will come back and revisit terrorist acts in this country.

Not on his watch. They would have loved for that to have happened during Bush. They would love surrender in Iraq when it's on Bush's shoulders, but I don't think he's going to do it, and I think — but he's got to say things that make his Fringe Kook base think that he is being true to his campaign promises.

HANNITY: All right, let — so then this raises this question. You're the leading voice of opposition, conservative, and have defined conservatives for over two decades. You celebrated you r20 years on the air, by the way, nationally syndicated, congratulations.

LIMBAUGH: Thank you.

HANNITY: Coming off record-ratings year for you, but you — you are a passionate conservative. You've defined conservatives for many people in this country for years. He represents the antithesis in terms of his world view.

So then the question becomes, do you want him to succeed?

LIMBAUGH: Now — this — I am so glad that he asked me that question. That you asked me this question.

HANNITY: I'm glad to.

LIMBAUGH: I'll tell you why. I am hearing many Republicans say that — well, we want him to succeed and prominent Republicans. Yes, we wanted — they have laid down. They have totally — they're drinking the Kool- Aid, too. They have no guts to stand up for what their beliefs are because they're afraid of criticism, they're afraid of being called racists, they're afraid of not having gotten with the program.

Now success can be defined two ways. I said earlier I don't know about this guy. I really don't. I've got my — I've got my suspicions, and they're pretty close to convictions, but we're going to have to wait to see what he does. Now if he turns out to be a Reagan, if he adds Reagan to his recipe of FDR and Lincoln, and if he does cut some taxes.

HANNITY: Yes.

LIMBAUGH: If he does not eliminate the Bush tax cuts, I would call that success. So yes, I would hope he would succeed if he acts like Reagan, but if he's going to do FDR, if he's going to do the new, new deal all over which we will call here the raw deal, why would I want him to succeed?

Look, he's my president. The fact that he is historic is irrelevant to me now. It matters not at all. I — if he is going to implement a far left — look it. I think it's already decided. $2 trillion in stimulus? The growth of government. I think the intent here is to create as many dependant Americans as possible looking to government for their hope and salvation.

If he gets nationalized health care, I mean, it's over, Sean. We're never going to roll that back. That's the end of America as we have known it because that's then going to set the stage for everything being government owned, operated, or provided.

Why would I want that to succeed? I don't believe in that. I know that's not how this country is going to be great in the future, it's not what made this country great.

So I shamelessly say, no, I want him to fail, if his agenda is a far- left collectivism, some people say socialism, as a conservative heartfelt, deeply, why would I want socialism to succeed?

(END VIDEOTAPE)

HANNITY: And coming up more of my exclusive interview with Rush Limbaugh, and just ahead, there's no love between Jimmy Carter and the Clintons, but who snubbed who? We have the rape in "Hannity's America".

And then Timothy Geithner tries to move past his tax problems into the post of Treasury Secretary. Mitt Romney will be here with reaction to that and the economy, straight ahead.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HANNITY: Your Treasury secretary nominee got grilled by senators of both parties by his inability to properly understand the tax code. Now that might be a useful thing to grasp since he's going to be running the IRS, right? Tim Geithner does the Potomac two-step and proves that he can understand the new administration's talking points. He gets the "Lib-er-al Translation" treatment tonight.

And former Governor Mitt Romney, he responds plus more of my exclusive interview with Rush Limbaugh, straight ahead.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HANNITY: And continuing now with my exclusive interview with nationally syndicated radio talk show host, Rush Limbaugh.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

HANNITY: You want your country to succeed, and you believe that his views implemented represent failure, predictable failure, and conservatism would — represent predictable success.

LIMBAUGH: Well, I don't know where what he wants to try has worked. It didn't work in the Soviet Union. It hasn't worked in China. They're having to become like us in China in order to survive. It hasn't worked in Cuba. It hasn't worked — it didn't work when the pilgrims arrived. They tried socialism. Remember, they had a plot of ground, they shared what they produced, and the slackers figured out they didn't have to produce anything to get goodies.

And so — you know, William Bradford said the heck with this, and he said OK, you get to keep everything you produce, and you're not sharing it. So everybody had to work — really giving thanks to God for the less — socialism failed.

I — it has never worked. The new deal didn't work. You know, Hoover was president through the depression for one year. FDR prolonged the new deal for seven or eight years, and yet he's given credit for ending the depression. Didn't happen. World War II ended it. The new deal didn't work.

This is new, new deal. It doesn't work. If it works, it will be the first time that it works, but it never has, and I don't think this is going to be the record breaker.

HANNITY: So I'm guessing you didn't get your Obama commemorative dinner plates, Rush.

(LAUGHTER)

HANNITY: It's gotten so bad. Did you notice they had the commemorative Obama thong? I mean — what do you make of the — you talk about a cult-like personality or you use the term messiah, the anointed one, he descended from the heavens at Invesco Field. What do you make of this Obama worship syndrome, Obama-mania?

LIMBAUGH: Well, I don't — I — you know, it is cult like depending on the people you're talking about, but let's examine the drive-bye. The media.

HANNITY: You've got to explain drive-by. Maybe one or two people didn't — have not heard it.

LIMBAUGH: Drive-by media, it's a (INAUDIBLE) drive by shooter except the microphones are the guns.

(LAUGHTER)

LIMBAUGH: And they're driving the groups of people they report a bunch of totally wrong libelous stuff about people, they create a giant mess, sometimes people get really harmed, they go out and try to destroy people's career. Then they get in the convertible, head on down the road, and do it all over again while people like you and me are left to clean up the mess with the truth.

So I call them the drive-by media.

HANNITY: Right.

LIMBAUGH: While they are praising Obama at that — at that Grant Park acceptance night, they're out in Denver when he accepted the nomination. I've got — I listened to Jon Meacham and somebody else at "Newsweek" say, you know, this is creepy. It's creepy. It's like he ascends after the speech and watches us.

(LAUGHTER)

LIMBAUGH: They call him creepy for a few brief moments, but yet at the same time he's the second coming. Charlie Rose and Tom Brokaw one night on Charlie Rose's show, I think in preparation for the fact that they don't know what he's going to do either, got into a long discussion about how neither one of them know him.

Well, I don't know who he is, Tom said. I don't know what books he's read. I really don't know who his role models are. But — Charlie Rose is (INAUDIBLE), I'm shouting to TV, Tom, you're at NBC, dispatch a reporter, it's your job, find out who he is.

They didn't. They only cared — see, Sean, they've got an investment. He's too big to fail. They wanted him elected because they wanted to reassert their power, the media here, in being able to sway public opinion to the result that they wanted, so they were going to cover up the Jeremiah Wright and all these things that give indication of radicalism of Obama, cover that up, portray him as he wants to be portrayed, somebody who's not to be questioned, somebody who's not to be doubted, we're just supposed to accept and trust because most of these guys came alive and came of age in the civil rights battles of the 60's.

It defined who they are. They've trained the young drive-bys to look at events through the same prism. You know racism in this country is the exclusive problems of the left. We're witnessing racism all this week that led up to the inauguration. We are being told that we have to hope he succeeds, that we have to bend over, grab the ankles, bend over forward, backward, whichever, because his father was black, because this is the first black president.

We — we've got to accept this. The racism that — everybody thinks exists on our side of the aisle has been on full display throughout their primary campaign. So I think they've done a great job, the media has, of covering up his deficiencies. They — he's too big to fail, and so whatever goes wrong, blame it on Bush, blame it on — I mean MSNBC's new life will be criticizing you and me because they can't criticize him.

HANNITY: But you're really saying here is you're in the "I want America to succeed, I want the right policies for America." It's not about the messiah or the anointed one or any one individual. Any wrong handed policies that's going to take America off — a course of success which is what we've been on, and this is something you've talked about for years, individual responsibility, liberty, freedom.

You know, we all have choices in America. It's the antithesis of where we're headed.

LIMBAUGH: And the freedom is important to understand in the founding of our country, but it's individual, not group. You're — exactly right. I'm not — I'm 58 years old now. And I don't devote — I don't have hero worship. You know I have my idols, but even they had flaws that I recognized, and I didn't agree with them hands down no matter what, but I'm not into hero worship.

I — that's what's happening here with Obama. I do care about the country. I care about what made it great. I want it to remain great and continue to be great for people that follow after me, nephews and nieces, I don't have any kids. But you know, we've inherited a country with a great opportunity for ourselves.

We want that to be passed on. The country is bigger than any one human being, any one presidency and so forth. I think a lot of people have put that aside or else they have assumed that this is the new direction that we're going to go that's going to get everybody fixed and solve everybody's problem, and there will be no more pain, there will be no more suffering, there'll just be contentment and utopia and happiness.

President Barack H. Obama’s biographers will need to know a little more than is currently known about his birth. After all, the presidential birthplace should be a national monument. Preparations should be started now to preserve it. Where is the house in which he was born? Or was it a hospital, I can’t remember?

Since Obama is one of our youngest presidents, the midwife who assisted the birth should still be alive. Historians and journalists would like to interview her. Wait, was it a doctor who attended the birth of our first black president? What was his name?

Oh, you could just look on the original birth certificate to answer all of these questions. It will be necessary for the American people and the world to know this fascinating part of our history.

I pledge allegiance to Obama
Celebrities promise to 'be a servant to our president'

In a new YouTube video produced by Oprah Winfrey's Harpo Productions, dozens of celebrities – television and movie actors, sports heroes, musicians and more – describe how they will pledge to "be the change" and "be a servant to our president."

The video opens with a quote from President Truman, "They say that the job of the president is the loneliest job in the world," something the celebrities plan to alleviate for Obama by pledging to pitch in through several causes.

Throughout the video, the celebrities pledge to support local food banks, to smile more, to be better parents, to work with the charity UNICEF, to "never give anyone the finger when I'm driving again," to help find a cure for Alzheimer's, to meet neighbors, to use less plastic, to plant 500 trees, to "be more green," to turn the lights off and to "free 1 million people from slavery in the next five years," among dozens of other pledges.

The purpose of all this pledging is summed up in the video's grand finale.

Actors Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher begin the closing scene by saying, "I pledge to be a servant to our president and all mankind."

Then, as the scene pans out, the other celebrities joint the chant: "Because together we can, together we are, and together we will be the change that we seek."

By the end of the mass pledge, the camera has panned back to a mosaic of faces that morphs into a picture of Barack Obama's face with the words, "Be the change."

The video is posted below:

Obama adviser: White males need not apply
Robert Reich tells House panel stimulus package should emphasize 'social return' over worker skill

A top economic adviser to President Obama has told a congressional panel the billions of dollars in the proposed economic stimulus plan should be allocated with social issues in mind, to make sure the money doesn't go to just "white male construction workers" or the highly skilled.

Robert Reich, who served as labor secretary under President Clinton, was speaking to the House Steering and Policy Committee Jan. 7 about funding infrastructure projects across the nation.

"It seems to me that infrastructure spending is a very important and good way of stimulating the economy. The challenge will be to do it quickly, to find projects that can be done that will have a high social return, that also can be done with the greatest speed possible," Reich said.

"I am concerned, as I'm sure many of you are, that these jobs not simply go to high skilled people who are already professionals or to white male construction workers," he said.

Countdown: NSA Surveillance Far Vaster Than Admitted; Targeted Regular Citizens and Journalists

It didn't take twenty four hours after the end of the Bush presidency for the latest scandal to come out---hopefully, it will not go down the memory hole of those eager to "look forward."

Despite all the assurances of the Bush administration that their wiretapping activities were only to protect Americans from terrorists and that only concerned foreign targets, I'm sure you will share my surprise to find out that that was not true. To be clear, it was not even close to being true.

Whistleblower Russell Tice, who back in 2006 had exposed the NSA program illegalities is back with Keith Olbermann to go even further than his earlier allegations, things he was perhaps afraid to say while Bush was still in office considering the smear job they did on him the first time around: The NSA, under the direction of George Bush, was monitoring ALL Americans' communications, specifically targeting journalists and news organizations.

Ancient Bible with a murky past is on the path to a new era of clarity

The story of the Codex Sinaiticus Bible, the oldest complete copy of the New Testament in existence, reads like a script from an Indiana Jones film.

Ever since a German explorer controversially removed it from an Egyptian monastery, four countries have fought for control over the ancient manuscript.

From today, extracts from the 4th-century Greek original can be viewed online. Behind the scenes, however, “harsh and negative” discussions continue between Britain, Russia, Egypt and Germany to establish who has the right to the priceless artefact.

ESP and Geomagnetic Activity

This may explain why I have these freaky vibes like last sping when I flet like my
chest was going to explode and then I figured in the ELF waves may have had some connection because of local earthquake activity.

Another one from late last year that got lost in my messy brain - and quite fascinating too. A paper from the Journal of Scientific Exploration titled "New Insights into the Links between ESP and Geomagnetic Activity" (by Adrian Ryan) suggests that psi abilities could vary in relation to geomagnetic pulsations:

A database of 343 free-response ESP trials conducted at centers in the U.K. was constructed in order to test the hypothesis that the relatively fast varying components of geomagnetic activity, geomagnetic pulsations, might be driving the reported associations between ESP, geomagnetic activity and local sidereal time. Local geomagnetic field-strength measurements taken at 1-second intervals during 99 trials, and at 5-second intervals during 244 trials, were converted by fast Fourier transform into power within five frequency bands. Two patterns were observed: ESP was found to succeed only during periods of enhanced pulsation activity within the 0.2-0.5 Hz band, but ESP effect was absent during the most disturbed periods of activity in the 0.025-0.1 Hz band.

The pattern of ESP effect by local sidereal time was similar to that found by Spottiswoode (1997b), and this shape was found to be attributable to the pattern of ESP results by pulsation activity in the 0.2-0.5 Hz band.

The observed patterns were demonstrated to have excellent explanatory power in terms of accounting for findings previously reported in the literature.

I'm still wrapping my head around it, but the author believes that as the frequency band of geomagnetic pulsation varies on a seasonal and daily basis, this could provide some explanation of the "Local Sidereal Time" (LST) effect previously noted in psi experiments (by James Spottiswoode).

2012 Prophetic? Leaks Found In Earth's Protective Field
Scientists have found two large leaks in Earth's magnetosphere, the region around our planet that shields us from severe solar storms. The leaks are defying many of scientists' previous ideas on how the interaction between Earth's magnetosphere and solar wind occurs: The leaks are in an unexpected location, let in solar particles in faster than expected and the whole interaction works in a manner that is completely the opposite of what scientists had thought. The findings have implications for how solar storms affect the our planet. Serious storms, which involved charged particles spewing from the sun, can disable satellites and even disrupt power grids on Earth. The new observations "overturn the way that we understand how the sun's magnetic field interacts with the Earth's magnetic field," said David Sibeck of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md., during a press conference today at the annual meeting of the American Geophysical Union in San Francisco. The bottom line: When the next peak of solar activity comes, in the year 2012, electrical systems on Earth and satellites in space may be more vulnerable... This finding not only has implications for scientists' understanding of the interaction between the sun and Earth's magnetosphere, but for predicting the effects to Earth during the next peak in the solar cycle. The Sun operates on an 11-year cycle, alternating between active and quiet periods. We are currently in a quiet period, with few sunspots on the sun's surface and fewer solar flares, though the next cycle of activity has begun. It is expected to peak around 2012, bringing lots of sunspots, flares and coronal mass ejections (CMEs). CMEs can interact with the Earth's magnetosphere, causing problems for satellites, communications, and power grids. This upcoming active period now looks like it will be more intense than the previous one...

The past six months have been a hectic period for our Lab with dramatic ups and unexpected downs that have marked the spirit of all CERN personnel. Given the challenges faced and still to come, the discoveries in sight and the open questions that remain, this promises to be one of the most exciting periods in the life of the Laboratory and in particle physics in general. "The scientific results from the LHC will have a huge impact not only on the future of CERN but also, potentially, the future of particle physics world-wide", confirms Heuer. "The indications we expect from the LHC in the time window 2010-2012 will show us the best way to proceed. Regarding accelerator-based physics at the energy frontier, the possible options are the SLHC and the linear collider, with technologies and strategies still to be defined". The Super LHC project (SLHC) would consist of an upgrade of luminosity up to 1035 cm−2 s−1, obtained with a new chain of pre-accelerators.

Ever since it was first popularized by Arthur C. Clarke, the idea of a "space elevator" has languished in the realms of science fiction. But now a team of British scientists has taken the first step on what could be a high-tech stairway to heaven. Spurred on by a $4 million research prize from NASA, a team at Cambridge University has created the world's strongest ribbon: a cylindrical strand of carbon that combines lightweight flexibility with incredible strength and has the potential to stretch vast distances. The development has been seized upon by the space scientists, who believe the technology could allow astronauts to travel into space via a cable thousands of miles long — a space elevator. They predict the breakthrough will revolutionize space travel. Such an elevator could potentially offer limitless and cheap space travel. At a stroke, it would make everything from tourism to more ambitious expeditions to Mars commercially viable. The idea couldn't come too soon for NASA, which spends an estimated $500 million every time the shuttle blasts off, not to mention burning about 900 tons of polluting rocket fuel.

It may have been dreamt up in 1950, but the Turing test - a simple way to tell if a machine can think - still holds powerful sway over many researchers striving to produce a machine at least in some respects equal with a human. Nowadays, although UK mathematician Alan Turing's test is still relevant, and unbeaten, new forms of it have evolved. In this online special, New Scientist discovers the different ways in which machines can be tested for human-like abilities - and how close they have come to passing as one of us... The line between reality and animation is blurring, and improved models of the muscles and tendons of the real human body will accelerate the process. Hiroshi Ishiguro, a roboticist at Osaka University in Japan, may be the person closest to traversing uncanny valley physically. His androids include creepily accurate replicas of himself and his daughter, complete with sensitive skin made from shape-memory plastic and plaster. His doppelganger - Geminoid - travels with him to conferences and even lectures in his place. Its looks, combined with its ability to fidget like a human, have proved enough to fool some people it is one of them. Ishiguro asked 20 volunteers to watch a curtain rise in front of them, and note the colour of a piece of cloth behind it. To their surprise, the opening curtain also revealed one of Ishiguro's androids, sat motionless. Most of the participants - 70% - reported afterwards that the figure was artificial. But when the humanoid reproduced the tiny "micro-movements" produced subconsciously by a seated human, and the test was repeated with more volunteers, 70% of them believed the figure was a person...

Last year, astronomers discovered a planet, thought to be about the size of three Earths, orbiting a star in the prime of its life. It led to speculation that scientists could determine its atmospheric composition and, eventually, figure out whether it could support life. Now a New Scientist report suggests that the planet—officially (and unimaginatively) named MOA-2007-BLG-192-L b—may be even smaller. "This is the lowest-mass planet yet detected, and is extremely close to the mass of the Earth," Scott Gaudi of Ohio State University in Columbus, who is not on the team that discovered the planet, said in the article. "Obviously, finding a true Earth-mass planet is one of the biggest goals of searches for exoplanets. We are very close to that goal now." The report said that the planet was detected using a technique called microlensing, in which one star passes in front of another as seen from Earth. "Light from the background star is gravitationally bent and magnified for a period of days to weeks during the event," the article said. "But if the nearer star hosts a planet, the planet's gravity can give an added boost to the background star's light for a few hours." Scientists expect to confirm the size of the planet with new data on the parent star from the Very Large Telescope in northern...

You might think your fifty inch 1080p screen has a pretty high resolution, but reality is a quadrillion times better - a hundred trillion dots per inch. A collaboration between Fermilab scientists and a hundreds of meters of laser may have found the very pixels of reality, grains of spacetime one tenth of a femtometer across. The GEO600 system is armed with six hundred meters of laser tube, which sounds like enough to equip an entire Star War, but these lasers are for detection, not destruction. GEO600's length means it can measure changes of one part in six hundred million, accurate enough to detect even the tiniest ripples in space time - assuming it isn't thrown off by somebody sneezing within a hundred meters or the wrong types of cloud overhead (seriously). The problem with such an incredibly sensitive device is just that - it's incredibly sensitive.

The steely hearted "Angel of Death", whose mission was to create a master race fit for the Third Reich, was the resident medic at Auschwitz from May 1943 until his flight in the face of the Red Army advance in January 1945. His task was to carry out experiments to discover by what method of genetic quirk twins were produced – and then to artificially increase the Aryan birthrate for his master, Adolf Hitler. Now, a historian claims, Mengele's notorious experiments may have borne fruit. For years scientists have failed to discover why as many as one in five pregnancies in a small Brazilian town have resulted in twins – most of them blond haired and blue eyed. But residents of Candido Godoi now claim that Mengele made repeated visits there in the early 1960s, posing at first as a vet but then offering medical treatment to the women of the town. Shuttling between Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil, he managed to evade justice before his death in 1979, but his dreams of a Nazi master race appeared unfulfilled.

As the first African-American president in United States history takes office, researchers have shown that it may be possible to scientifically reduce racial bias. After being trained to distinguish between similar black male faces, Caucasian test subjects showed greater racial tolerance on a test designed to to measure unconscious bias. The results are still preliminary, have yet to be replicated, and the real-world effects of reducing bias in a controlled laboratory setting are not clear. But for all those caveats, the findings add to a growing body of research suggesting that science can battle racism. "Any time you can get people to treat people as individuals, you reduce the effect of stereotypes," said Brown University cognitive scientist Michael Tarr. "It won't solve racism, but it could have profound real-world effects." Tarr's findings overlap with other results suggesting that the key to reducing racial bias — at least in a short-term, laboratory setting — is exposure to people in personalized ways that challenge stereotypes. This is hardly a new notion: it's the essence of the contact hypothesis, formulated in the mid-20th century and the basis of integrated schooling. But unlike carefully structured social mixing, with precisely controlled conditions of interdependence and equality, Tarr and others raise the possibility of a a lab-based shortcut to bias reduction.

Here we build a prima facae case supporting the idea that Hollywood continues to be a target for infiltration and subversion by a variety of state agencies, in particular the CIA. Academic debates on cinematic propaganda are almost entirely retrospective, and whilst a number of commentators have drawn attention to Hollywood’s longstanding and open relationship with the Pentagon, little of substance has been written about the more clandestine influences working through Hollywood in the post-9/11 world. As such, our work delves into the field of what Peter Dale Scott calls "deep politics"; namely, activities which cannot currently be fully understood due to the covert influence of shadowy power players. A variety of state agencies have liaison offices in Hollywood today, from the FBI, to NASA and the Secret Service. Few of these agencies, though, have much to offer in exchange for favourable storylines, and so their influence in Hollywood is minimal. The major exception here is the Department of Defense, which has an ‘open’ but barely publicized relationship with Tinsel Town, whereby, in exchange for advice, men and invaluable equipment, such as aircraft carriers and helicopters, the Pentagon routinely demands flattering script alterations.

As smart as computers may seem, they can't match humans in certain tasks: describing the contents of an image, rating the quality of Web search results, or transcribing and translating text from another language, to name a few. Tapping into human expertise to tackle problems that computers struggle with is also a growing business: Google lets customers refine its search results, and Amazon uses a system called the Mechanical Turk to off-load all manner of simple tasks to humans around the world; people will work on these tasks, even for pennies. Now Nathan Eagle, a research fellow at the Santa Fe Institute, in New Mexico, is launching a project similar to Amazon's Mechanical Turk but that distributes tasks via cell phones. The goal of his project, called txteagle, is to leverage an underused work force in some of the poorest parts of the world.

The military created the command to better manage the nation's nuclear arsenal. It comes after a series of embarrassing missteps, including the flight of a B-52 bomber that was mistakenly armed with six nuclear-tipped cruise missiles and flown from Minot Air Force Base to Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana in August 2007. Minot Air Force Base has a dual nuclear mission - handling both bombers and Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missiles. Senators Kent Conrad and Byron Dorgan and Congressman Earl Pomeroy say they think that gives the base an advantage when the Air Force picks a permanent home for the Global Strike Command. It's currently housed at Bolling Air Force Base in Washington, D.C. The other bases under consideration are: Barksdale; F.E. Warren in Wyoming; Malmstrom in Montana; Offutt in Nebraska and Whiteman in Missouri. A decision is expected by June.

Last month, the Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS) Commission on Cybersecurity for the 44th Presidency warned that the United States is losing the battle to protect cyberspace. This is an arms race we can't afford to lose As Thomas Claburn quotes from the CSIS report in this story from last month: "The CSIS report, "Securing Cyberspace for the 44th Presidency," states that cybersecurity "is a strategic issue on par with weapons of mass destruction and global jihad" and that it "can no longer be relegated to information technology offices and chief information officers." Now, consider this quote from a recent story in Aviation Week: "It's not about putting iron on targets anymore; it's about fighting the networks," says a U.S. EW specialist and senior technology officer. It's an interesting quote, but it's not really accurate. War is now about putting iron on targets and fighting the networks. You need to win on both fronts. Robert Harward, the deputy commander of U.S. Joint Forces Command, says now is the time to push electronic weaponry: "Everybody recognizes that electronic fires [such as jamming, directed energy, and cyberwar] is a capability that ought to be bought, maintained, and developed," says Harward. "It's part of the technology advantage that we have right now, and our ability to expand it will pay dividends. We're looking at it in the experimentation phase and how we might move forward."

The group of 40 terrorists were reported to have been killed by the plague at a training camp in Algeria earlier this month. It was initially believed that they could have caught the disease through fleas on rats attracted by poor living conditions in their forest hideout. But there are now claims the cell was developing the disease as a weapon to use against western cities. Experts said that the group was developing chemical and biological weapons. Dr Igor Khrupinov, a biological weapons expert at Georgia University, told The Sun: "Al-Qaeda is known to experiment with biological weapons. And this group has direct communication with other cells around the world. "Contagious diseases, like ebola and anthrax, occur in northern Africa. It makes sense that people are trying to use them against Western governments." Dr Khrupinov, who was once a weapons adviser to the Soviet president Mikhail Gorbachev, added: "Instead of using bombs, people with infectious diseases could be walking through cities." It was reported last year that up to 100 potential terrorists had attempted to become postgraduate students in Britain in an attempt to use laboratories. Ian Kearns, from the Institute for Public Policy Research, told the newspaper: "The biological weapons threat is not going away. We're not ready for it."

Some experts have argued that U.S. banks should be nationalized. Arthur Levitt, a former Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) chairman goes a step farther: He says our banks will be nationalized. “The whole question of ringing banks, of having good banks and bad banks doesn’t make sense. Clearly we’re moving toward nationalizing banks,” Levitt, a senior advisor to private equity firm Carlyle Group, told Bloomberg TV, The government has to choose winners and losers among the banks, Levitt says. “Nothing less will work.” That’s not the favored policy of the Obama administration, but “it’s being pushed toward that,” he says. “The whole idea of forcing banks to lend is a populist notion. To whom are they going to lend? I don’t think there’s demand from borrowers out there.” The government can’t force banks to lend, Levitt says. “At most, the government can jawbone.”

In golf, they call it a mulligan. A do-over. There's no formal name for what President Obama and Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. did last night. After flubbing his one role on Inauguration Day -- administering the oath of office to Obama -- Roberts traveled to the White House to re-administer the oath. Just to make sure. "We decided it was so much fun . . .," Obama joked while sitting on a couch in the Map Room. Obama stood and walked over to make small talk with pool reporters as Roberts donned his black robe. "Are you ready to take the oath?" Roberts asked. "I am, and we're going to do it very slowly," Obama replied. After a flawless recitation that included no Bible and took 25 seconds, Roberts smiled and said, "Congratulations, again." Obama said, "Thank you, sir," and then added: "All right. The bad news for the [reporters] is there's 12 more balls."

Former Supreme Court nominee Judge Robert Bork has predicted that upcoming legal battles will have significant ramifications for religious freedom. He names as issues of major concern the continued freedom of Catholic hospitals to refuse to perform abortions and the likely “terrible conflict” resulting from the advancement of homosexual rights. Speaking in an interview published Tuesday by Cybercast News Service, Judge Bork discussed the contentious nature of modern politics. “Everything is up for debate these days. I can’t think of anything that isn’t,” he said. “You are going to get Catholic hospitals that are going to be required as a matter of law to perform abortions,” he claimed. “We are going to see in the near future a terrible conflict between claimed rights of homosexuals and religious freedom… You are going to get Catholic or other groups’ relief services that are going to be required to allow adoption of a child by homosexual couples. We are going to have a real conflict that goes right to the heart of the society.”

Speaking before a record crowd estimated at between two and three million people at his inauguration here Tuesday, U.S. President Barack Obama promised a foreign policy of "humility and restraint" and "greater cooperation and understanding between nations". In his first address as president, Obama also said he will take "bold and swift" action to address the deepening economic crisis designed to roll back the excesses of the market and "lay a new foundation for growth," and to ensure that, in dealing with terrorist threats, he will seek to protect the rule of law and human rights. "As for our common defence, we reject as false the choice between our safety and our ideals," he asserted in an implicit rejection of the policies of his predecessor, George W. Bush, that received the strongest applause of a 15-minute address delivered shortly after he was sworn into office by Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts on the balcony of the U.S. Capitol.

The European Commission, executive body of the European Union (EU), President Jose Manuel Barroso has urged US President Barack Obama and European leaders to deepen their transatlantic ties at a time of 'great challenges'. "The US and the EU should acknowledge their interdependence and the need for openness, while working closely together to shape multilateral responses to global challenges, from the financial and economic crises to peace and security, including in the Middle East, development challenges, and of course the defining struggle of our generation: to stop and reverse climate change," Barroso said in a statement marking Obama's inauguration. Relations between the EU and the US reached a low under George W. Bush, whose administration frustrated many European leaders by declaring war on Iraq and by refusing to cooperate in the fight against global warming. Barroso said he looked forward to working with Obama "to promote a politics of global engagement that will support international institutions reformed to address effectively our global responsibilities, from climate change to development aid, trade, democracy and human rights, and sound financial systems". Barroso's comments were echoed by European Parliament President Hans-Gert Poettering. "With the arrival of this new US Administration, we can relaunch transatlantic relations and put them on a new and dynamic footing. We have a unique chance to open a new chapter and engage in new thinking. Our aim is to forge a strong EU-US partnership based on equality," Poettering said.

A student who lost his left hand in an accident three years ago has been fitted with the world’s most sophisticated prosthetic limb. Evan Reynolds, 19, took only minutes to learn how to manipulate the i-LIMB, which is operated by tiny sensors resting against his arm muscles. With his new hand he can now pick up a paper cup filled with water, peel a carrot or walk down the street eating chips, all activities he could only dream about before. The $15,000 i-LIMB was developed by the Scottish company Touch Bionics and Reynolds is only the second person in the U.K. to be fitted with one. Unlike previous prosthetics, the hand can tell how tightly it is gripping, allowing the user a large degree of control. Reynolds, a sports biology student at University of the West of England, was in a friend’s car hanging his hand out of the window when it was taken off by a wooden gate post. His life was saved by his quick-thinking friends who applied a tourniquet and stopped him bleeding to death but the accident wrecked his dreams of joining the British Army.

Near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, a mound of dirt and rock can tell us much about subsistence in the desert. That mound now is part of a museum, but archaeologist Todd Bostwick believes it was built as a temple of sorts by the Hohokam, who lived in the Sonoran Desert for 1,000 years. They planted corn, beans, cotton and squash, and they built a community that grew to about 40,000 people. They did this without wheels or machines, without heating or air-conditioning. Bostwick, of the Pueblo Grande Museum and Archaeological Park in Phoenix, has studied the Hohokam for 30 years. His office is near the temple mound, and a map on his wall shows the 1,000 miles of irrigation canals that once fingered through metro Phoenix, some built so well that their remnants were used centuries later by early settlers and Salt River Project. "We call the Hohokam an urban society, because they had villages that lasted for hundreds of years," Bostwick said. "That is a remarkable model of sustainability that we need to look at."

Prison buses are driving around empty in the Tucson area. Are Wackenhut and the DHS preparing for civil unrest?

On a recent visit to Tucson, where I was invited to give a presentation on monetary reform, I was disturbed by a story of strange goings on in the desert. A little over a year ago, it seems, a new industrial facility sprang up on the edge of town. It was in a remote industrial zone and appeared to be a bus depot. The new enterprise was surrounded by an imposing security fence and bore no outward signs identifying its services. However, it soon became apparent that the compound was in the business of outfitting a fleet of prison buses. Thirty or so secondhand city buses were being reconfigured with prison bars in the windows and a coat of fresh paint bearing the “Wackenhut G4S” logo on the side.
The new Wackenhut operation is shrouded in mystery. It has been running its fleet of empty prison buses night and day, apparently logging miles on a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) contract. Multiple buses can be seen driving all over town and even on remote desert back roads. Oddly, except for the driver and one escort guard seated in front, these buses are always empty. Wackenhut Services was founded by George Wackenhut in 1954 to provide prison guard services to state and federal governments. Mr. Wackenhut was reported to be something of a brawler himself, having once earned distinction beating up his business partner in a fist fight. Now owned by the Danish corporation G4S, Wackenhut Services has a sinister reputation for hiring thugs. It has been said that it’s hard to tell which is more dangerous, the prisoners or the guards.
Observers originally thought that the purpose of the new Wackenhut operation was to outfit prison buses to be distributed in other parts of the country. But it soon became apparent that none of the buses was leaving the Tucson depot. Recently, a passerby observed what appeared to be a training operation there. In what seemed to be strange activity for 10:30 PM on a Saturday night, the depot yard was fully illuminated, the entire fleet of buses was up and running, and drivers and guards were scrambling around the yard. The question is, what were they training for? Wackenhut has never officially announced itself to the community, and the local news media have never mentioned its presence. Hiring has been discreetly conducted via the Internet, and an apathetic general public has taken little notice.

Among the few who have noticed, one theory is that the prison bus depot is simply infrastructure for border security. But if so, where are the illegal aliens? Why are these buses always empty? What is the alleged justification for burning thousands of gallons of diesel fuel to run thirty decrepit, smoking buses night and day without passengers?

You know the ones with blacked windows that no one gets in or out of. Well, wonder no more. They have a 6-barreled 7.62mm mini gun. They fire over 4,000 rounds per minute. The wipers need to be run to remove spent casings when the weapon is firing. This video is from the company that makes this happen. The vehicle is also armor plated

I've designed several inverters, but never one at high voltage, either. Sounds like you've done a lot of good thinking about this, but I still think the lead time on the inverter is not going to be negligible. I also think that the inverter is going to be an important part of your calculations of scale.
